Job description

We are currently seeking a Boom Truck Operator / Yard Associate for our client, a well-established precast concrete manufacturer, to join their team in Burford. This is a full-time, opportunity offering stable, year-round employment with guaranteed hours. The ideal candidate is safety-driven, dependable, and comfortable working in both a driving and manufacturing environment.

This role is open to candidates with varying levels of crane certification. Applicants with a 0–8 ton crane ticket are encouraged to apply, as training and development opportunities are available. Compensation will be aligned with experience, certifications, and demonstrated skill level.

Location: Burford, ON

Shift Hours:

Days: 7:30 am – 5:00 pm (Monday to Thursday)
Friday: 7:30 am – 4:00 pm
Guaranteed 44 hours per week (year-round)

Compensation: $26.00 – $30.00/hour (based on experience and qualifications)

Job Responsibilities:

Safely operate a boom truck and crane to transport precast concrete products to job sites
Ensure proper load securement, including strapping and dunnage
Conduct daily vehicle inspections in compliance with regulatory requirements
Verify load weights and ensure adherence to lifting capacities
Support yard operations, including loading and unloading trucks
Prepare molds for concrete pouring
Perform reinforcement steel preparation
Assist with concrete pouring and stripping of molds
Operate basic hand tools and follow production specifications
Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment
Perform other duties as assigned

Job Requirements

Valid DZ or AZ driver’s license (required)
Minimum 2 years of boom truck/crane operating experience
0–8 ton crane ticket or 339C Hoisting Engineer License (preferred)
Forklift and/or overhead crane experience (asset)
Strong commitment to safety and attention to detail
Ability to perform physically demanding tasks (lifting, bending, kneeling)
Ability to read measurements and interpret specifications accurately
Strong communication and teamwork skills
Willingness to learn and support both driving and plant operations
