Job description

Position Summary

: This course will examine current policies and "best practices" related to assessment and evaluation as informed by recent research and relevant Ontario Ministry of Education curriculum, policy, and supporting documents. Teacher Candidates will differentiate between assessment and evaluation, and between marking, grading, and reporting. Teacher Candidates will build foundational pedagogical knowledge for evaluating and reporting student progress and achievement using the Elementary and Secondary Provincial Report Cards and the Elementary Progress Report. The course will also examine the role of large- scale assessments and develop knowledge and skills for analyzing and interpreting their results. Course content will focus on evaluation and reporting policies and practices appropriate for learners in grades 4 to 10.

Successful candidate will work with the course lead and/or team in order to provide consistency across sections.

Qualifications – Required Academic Degree: Master’s degree in Education; Bachelor of Education and/or K – 10 Teaching Certification; Grades 4-10 Ontario teaching experience with expertise in Assessment and Evaluation
