We are actively seeking an experienced Senior Business Development Engineer to join our Business Development Team. Reporting to the Team Lead, Business Development, the Senior Business Development Engineer will be critical to Strathcona Resources continued growth and success. We are seeking someone looking for a challenge and who gets excited about the prospect of collaborating with talented people.
The Successful Candidate Will :
Assess value of business development opportunities (upstream asset A&D, commercial opportunities, sustainability etc.) through technical integration of multidisciplinary data and performing discounted cash flow analysis.
Serve as the project manager for various BD related projects (upstream asset A&D, commercial opportunities, sustainability etc.) as required.
Screen both proactive and reactive opportunities in market based on targeted acquisition criteria stemming from corporate strategy.
Preparation and / or delivery of presentations to various internal stakeholders to aid in decision making.
Maintain an understanding of past A&D / commercial transactions and undertake periodic peer benchmarking.
Ideal Qualifications Include :
Minimum of 10 years of oil and gas industry experience in exploitation / development or business development / A&D.
Solid foundation in discounted cash flow analysis and economic evaluation.
Experience organizing, processing, and drawing conclusions from large datasets.
Experience in operations and development at an exploration and production company; specifically in plays with horizontal drilling, secondary and tertiary recovery schemes, thermal heavy oil, and unconventional assets.
Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to effectively collaborate and build consensus in a high-pressure environment.
Possess a high degree of natural curiosity, creativity, and humility.
Passion for using data to drive decision making.
Strong communication (both written and oral) for interaction with internal stakeholders, both technical and management.
Education and Experience :
Professional Engineering designation
Financial designation or other related coursework is preferred.
Work Environment :
Based at our head office in downtown Calgary.
