Job Overview :
Our client in British Columbia is seeking a Data Strategy / Data Governance Manager to play a critical role in shaping and driving the organization's data and analytics strategy. This position involves establishing data governance programs, conducting assessments, and implementing data management frameworks to support business transformation. The successful candidate will collaborate closely with senior stakeholders and lead cross-functional teams to deliver high-impact projects.
Qualifications and Experience :
Required Skills :
- A minimum of 5+ years of experience in data management, including expertise in frameworks and concepts such as Data Governance, Data Policy, Data Lineage, Data Models, Data Quality, Risk Control Frameworks, and Metadata Management.
- Demonstrated expertise in Data Governance frameworks, standards, and regulatory requirements.
- Proven leadership experience in data management, with prior roles such as business owner for Data Governance at a large organization or as a consultant for Chief Data Office functions.
- Experience conducting data maturity assessments such as EDM Council DCAM; certification in DCAM assessments is highly desirable.
- Familiarity with tools such as Collibra, Informatica, MS Purview, Ataccama, and similar platforms.
- Advanced problem-solving skills and superior communication abilities to effectively convey complex ideas to both technical and business audiences.
- Proven experience in client-facing activities, including requirements gathering, workshop facilitation, and the creation of client-ready deliverables.
- Experience with Agile and traditional SDLC delivery methodologies.
- Ability to work independently and deliver results under tight deadlines.
