Job Summary
The Early Childhood Educator Assistant (ECEA) supports the delivery of high-quality care and learning experiences for children. Working under the guidance of the Site Supervisor, the ECEA helps create a safe, inclusive, and stimulating environment that fosters each child’s intellectual, physical, social, and emotional development. This role actively engages children in play-based and educational activities, promotes positive interactions, and contributes to a nurturing atmosphere.
Skills, Knowledge & Abilities
- Knowledge of early childhood development and childcare best practices
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to build positive relationships with children, families, and colleagues
- Organizational and time management skills to maintain a safe, structured, and engaging environment
- Understanding of group dynamics and facilitation techniques for collaborative activities
- Ability to work effectively within a team, offering support and guidance when needed
- Empathy and patience in responding to the needs of children and families
- Creativity and adaptability to design engaging activities and respond to changing situations
- Cultural sensitivity and inclusiveness to support diverse families and create a welcoming environment
