Job description

Architectural Estimator:Alumax Panel is a leading supplier and installer of architectural cladding material with a focus on Aluminum Composite Material (ACM) and Siding. We are looking for a driven, organized, and detail-oriented person to estimate and take off projects involving metal cladding systems for small and large scale construction projects. You will be working with the project management team, senior management, architects, builders, developers, and building owners to provide estimate breakdowns and pricing. At Alumax, growth is unlimited, we hire and develop sophisticated candidates that can shape the future of Canadian and Global construction industry. COMPETENCIES:

A college or university degree in areas such as architecture, architectural technologies, construction management, or similar.
At least two years of experience as an architectural estimator.
At least one year of experience in façade and cladding design.
Knowledge of building envelope and rain screen systems.
At least one year of experience with Planswift/ Autocad.
Knowledge of building code regarding cladding and enveloping.
Proficient in Microsoft office especially Excel.
Experience Estimating and Bidding Commercial project, such as; Educational, Big Box, Government, Office Retail, Multi Family Apartments and Residential.
Exceptional communication skills, organization skills, and work ethic.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Review architectural drawings and project specifications to determine project scope.
Determine the amount of sheets and materials to be used in the project as well as the waste percentage.
Prepare estimates of cladding requirements for new construction and retrofit projects.
Draft 2D and 3D basic building systems and mark-up drawings.
Communicate with clients regarding RFI’s and any addendums.
Communications with clients for approvals including follow ups after sending quotes.
