Your role at Clorox:

Working in a participative team-based environment, using World Class Operations (WCO) processes and principles, the Plant Engineering Manager directs the facility's engineering and maintenance functions to ensure safe, reliable, and cost-effective operations. This role oversees capital projects, equipment upgrades, facility maintenance, and compliance with environmental and safety regulations. They lead continuous improvement to optimize plant productivity and asset lifecycles. Supports overall plant financial objectives; effectively managing capital budgets and ensures spending deliverables fall within planned timeframes. Leads all engineering operational excellence activities for WCO, including tracking & reporting of key metrics.

In this role, you will:

  • Provide engineering leadership and technical direction to support safe, reliable, and efficient plant operations while driving continuous improvement initiatives across the site.
  • Lead and oversee capital projects from planning through execution, ensuring alignment with timelines, budgets, compliance requirements, and operational priorities.
  • Partner cross-functionally with Operations, Maintenance, Quality, Supply Chain, and Corporate Engineering teams to deliver productivity, quality, cost reduction, and operational excellence goals.
  • Champion engineering standards, maintenance strategies, and best practices to improve equipment reliability, asset performance, and manufacturing efficiency.
  • Ensure compliance with environmental, health & safety, regulatory, and company engineering standards across all plant activities and infrastructure.
  • Oversee facility and utility systems stewardship, including building infrastructure, site services, risk management, and long-term facility improvement planning.
  • Support new product introductions, process improvements, and technical innovation initiatives by providing sound engineering assessment and execution leadership.
  • Drive strong project governance, including scope management, financial stewardship, risk mitigation, and capital planning activities.
  • Mentor, coach, and develop engineering and technical talent while fostering an inclusive, collaborative, and high-performance culture.
  • Contribute to broader engineering leadership initiatives across the organization by sharing best practices and supporting continuous improvement efforts.

What we look for:

Years and Type of Experience:

  • 8+ years of engineering experience in a manufacturing environment & 8+ years’ experience supervising technical support staff - preferably in a consumer goods high-speed manufacturing setting.

Skills and Abilities:

  • Proven ability to lead, influence, and develop high-performing teams within a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
  • Strong analytical and decision-making capabilities with the ability to balance technical expertise and business priorities.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across all organizational levels.
  • Strong project planning, prioritization, and organizational skills, including experience leading cross-functional initiatives.
  • Demonstrated agility and adaptability in driving change, continuous improvement, and operational transformation initiatives.
  • Solid business acumen with the ability to connect engineering strategies to operational and financial outcomes.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications including Excel, PowerPoint, Word, and Teams.
  • Experience with engineering, maintenance, or asset management systems; SAP experience is considered an asset.

Education Level/Degree:

  • Engineering Degree – P. Eng designation preferred or equivalent working experience.

  • Non-Sales: $109,104 - $159,104

  • Sales: $94,928 - $144,928
