Job description

MISTRAS Services Inc. is a leading provider of NDE, Wind and Rope Access Mechanical Services. Specializing in both traditional and advanced NDE methods, we are dedicated to delivering professional, high-quality services with a strong emphasis on safety. MISTRAS Services Inc. is seeking Certified Exposure Device Operators (CEDO). The CEDO will help to support Fab-Shop and call out operations by safely performing industrial radiography and ensuring strict adherence to CNSC regulations and corporate safety protocols.

Join the Mistras team! We are currently hiring CEDO-certified professionals for our Calgary operations. This role offers the stability of local work in Calgary, AB, with the flexibility to travel for project-based assignments when needed.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensure safe operation of exposure devices.
  • Setup film in field / Fab Shop locations.
  • Setup radiographic barriers.
  • Dismantle radiographic barriers.
  • Ensure radiographic perimeters are free from non-authorized personnel in coordination with field operations.
  • Carrying out radiographic inspection as directed.
  • Adhering to MISTRAS Group, Inc. safety polices and procedures.
  • Adhering to CNSC regulations and MISTRAS Group, Inc. Radiation Safety Manual.
  • Mentoring and coaching of designated Trainees.
  • Assisting with inspection reports.
  • Assisting with other NDE method inspections as required.
  • Various other duties as assigned.

Qualifications, Experience and Skills:

  • Current CEDO certification with NRCAN
  • Technical background in NDT methods and procedures
  • MT/PT/UT certification is an asset
  • Fabrication experience preferred
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively perform assigned NDT tasks
  • Knowledge of NDT equipment
  • Strong computer skills required; including the ability to operate computerized equipment
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Excellent organizational skills
  • Effective problem solving and decision making skills
  • Ability to work with new technology
  • Clean Valid Class 5 Driver's License

Physical Job Demand:

  • Frequent lifting up to 75 lbs.
  • Ability to work at heights
  • Must be able to tolerate working in extreme climates (sub zero temperatures) for extended periods of time.
  • Must be able to tolerate numerous hours spent stooping, crawling, kneeling, standing and walking.
  • Must be comfortable working in cramped or confined spaces.
  • Must wear required protective and safety equipment (cold weather gear, safety glasses, hard hats, etc.
