We are hiring Assembler's in Mississauga, Ontario!

Job Description

Join our team as an Assembler in a dynamic environment where we manufacture custom industrial packaging. You will play a vital role in creating industrial-sized custom crates and corrugated boxes. You will receive orders and custom drawings from our engineering team and use a 'saw card' to guide your work in assembling the crates.

Responsibilities

  • Perform repetitive assembly of 10-foot long, 4 feet wide and deep crates for a special project.
  • Build components such as bases, lids, ends, and shelves using nail guns.
  • Install hinges and other hardware with impact drivers and screws.
  • Assemble crate walls to completion.
  • Rotate as a helper for cutting lumber to size using table saws.
  • Use a tape measure accurately.

Essential Skills

  • Experience in assembly and woodworking.
  • Proficiency with hand and power tools.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Experience working in manufacturing or construction.
  • Basic understanding of shop drawings, blueprints, and carpentry.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Experience in basic carpentry, construction, or crating.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints.

Work Environment

Work in a non-unionized, small but growing shop with 18 assemblers alongside engineering and sales teams. The facility is large, bright, and clean, fostering a laid-back work environment that emphasizes teamwork. Participate in BBQs and company events. Choose between two afternoon shifts or one day shift. Day shifts run from 6:30 AM to 3:00 PM, Monday to Friday, with occasional Saturday overtime. Afternoon shifts are from 3:30 PM to 2:00 AM, Monday to Thursday. Tools are provided, but you may bring your own if preferred.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Mississauga, ON.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $19.50 - $20.25/hr.
