Job Description

Imagine working at the forefront of innovation in fluid-flow technology, with over 1400 colleagues across the globe, and contributing to a legacy of excellence that spans eight manufacturing facilities on four continents. Armstrong Fluid Technology is more than just a leader in our industry; we are a community of the brightest and most creative minds, driven by a shared mission to engineer the future and safeguard our planet.

As a member of our team, you'll dive into an environment that encourages learning and boundary-pushing every day. You'll be part of an agile and dynamic workplace where today's solutions are built for tomorrow's challenges.

The Product Assembler plays a pivotal role on the Operations team. As Armstrong continues to grow in manufacturing capacity and efficiency, we are looking for a dependable and hard-working individual who will be responsible for building our products. This includes, but is not limited to, putting together multiple parts, ensuring quality manufacturing, reporting product defects, contributing ideas to improve efficiencies, and adhering to all health and safety policies and best practices.

This position is based out of Scarborough, Ontario and reports directly to the Afternoon Shift Assembly Supervisory. This position will begin as a 3-month, full-time contract with possible extension for permanent, full-time employment based on performance and business needs at the close of the 3-month period. Please note there is a $0.60/hour premium when working the Afternoon Shift.

In addition to annual initiatives, the key responsibilities are as follows:

Key Accountabilities:

  • Following all health and safety policies, procedures, and regulations constantly in an industrial manufacturing environment
  • Bench-assembly and building pumps
  • Operating production equipment, primarily drill presses, hand grinders, and other appropriate tools as required (e.g. compressors, band saws)
  • Bolt, screw, clip, or otherwise fasten parts and components together using hand tools, power tools, and other necessary equipment
  • Marking, recording, and reporting material defects as required
  • Utilizing overhead and jib-cranes as well as other lifting devices
  • Using safe material handling equipment such as pallet trucks/jacks
  • All other duties as may be assigned

What We’re Looking For

To thrive in this role, you should bring:

  • Minimum 2-years’ experience in a manufacturing environment in an assembly or building-type role or similar
  • Proficient ability to read and follow specific work instructions for made-to-order products
  • Strong sense of urgency in a time-sensitive working environment
  • Great team-oriented attitude, while capable of working independently
  • Working knowledge of typical measuring equipment, including tape measures
  • Ability to work while standing, bending squatting, and lifting up to 60lbs.
  • Strong verbal communication in English

Why Armstrong Fluid Technology?

By joining us, you’ll become part of a global community dedicated to pushing the boundaries of fluid-flow technology. You’ll have endless opportunities to learn, grow, and make a significant impact on the world. Together, we'll build tomorrow’s solutions today.
