During an exciting time of growth, the University of Victoria seeks its next Dean of the Faculty of Education. Reporting to the Vice-President Academic and Provost, the Dean will provide strategic, collaborative, and inspirational leadership to the Faculty. The Dean will guide the Faculty’s academic mission, strengthening excellence in research, teaching, and community engagement while fostering a culture of inclusion, innovation, and collaboration. Working closely with faculty, staff, students, alumni, and external partners, the Dean will advance the Faculty’s reputation and impact through strategic partnerships, research development, and program innovation. With a demonstrated track record in equity, diversity, inclusion, and reconciliation, the Dean will play a key role in advancing Indigenization, decolonization, and anti-oppressive practices in education while positioning the Faculty to address emerging challenges and opportunities in education locally, nationally, and globally.

The successful candidate will hold a doctorate in a relevant discipline and be eligible for appointment as a full professor (associate professors nearing promotion will also be considered). They will be a distinguished academic and administrative leader with a record of scholarly achievement, experience in strategic and financial leadership, and demonstrated success engaging diverse internal and external stakeholders.
