Work Arrangement: This opening is hybrid, the successful candidate is expected to report to the office - Markham Elevation Centre (MEC) three times per week, at minimum.

The Role

As aSenior DevOps Developerin GM’s Virtualization andSoftware‑in‑the‑Loop(SIL) Integration group, you will build automation, pipelines, andcloud‑nativesystems that accelerate developer velocity and enablelarge‑scalevirtual validation. We value the strengths you bring — your CI/CD background, embedded systems experience, and your ability to create automation that removes friction for developers. In this role,you’lldeepen your architectural skills while gaininghands‑onexposure to cloud orchestration,IaC, progressive delivery, and advanced simulation workflows.

WhatYou’llDo (Responsibilities)

• Design andmaintainCI/CD pipelinesfor virtual ECUs, embedded software, and simulation artifacts.

• Automate build, test, and packaging workflowsacross C++, Python, MATLAB/Simulink, andmodel‑basedtoolchains.

• Operate containerized simulation environmentsusing Docker and Kubernetes.

• ImplementGitOpsworkflowsformulti‑clusterconsistency and reliability.

• Optimizedeveloper velocitythrough caching, artifact reuse, and workflow simplification.

• Integrate observabilityinto pipelines for traceability, metrics, and debugging.

• Collaborate with embedded, simulation, and controls teamsto align delivery withmodel‑baseddevelopment workflows.

• Supportcloud‑basedSIL executionforlarge‑scaleparallel simulation.

Your Skills & Abilities (Qualifications)

• Bachelor’s orMaster’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or related field.

• 7+ years of relevant experiencein DevOps, CI/CD, automation, or software development.

• Hands‑onCI/CD experiencewith GitHub Actions, Jenkins, GitLab, or Azure DevOps.

• Strong scripting skills(Python, Bash, PowerShell).

• Experience with containersand Kubernetes fundamentals.

• Familiarity with embedded ormodel‑baseddevelopment(MATLAB/Simulink, code generation,vECUs).

• Understanding ofcloud platforms(AWS, Azure, or GCP).

• Knowledge of deployment strategiesand release automation.

What Will Give You a Competitive Edge (Preferred Qualifications)

• Experience with SIL/HIL pipelinesandco‑simulationframeworks.

• Terraform orIaCexpertiseformulti‑environmentprovisioning.

• Knowledge of automotive data flowsacrossvehicle, local, andcloud.

• Experience with progressive delivery(canary,blue‑green).

• Understanding of secure supplychain(SLSA, OPA,Sigstore).

• Familiarity with virtualization platformsused forvECUsand simulation

Compensation:

The salary range for this role is $115,000 to $164,600. The actual base salary a successful candidate will be offered within this range will vary based on factors relevant to the position.
