Position : Family Law Legal Assistant / Law Clerk
Location : Downtown Toronto
Salary : $55,000 - $75,000 per year (depending on level of experience)
Industry : Law / Legal
Employment Term : Fulltime / Permanent
Roles & Responsibilities :
- Draft and prepare Family Law documents.
- Communicate professionally with clients, counsel, and courts.
- Maintain organized electronic and physical filing systems.
- Handle the preparation of motions, including 14B motions, and divorce applications.
- Prepare Certificates of Financial Disclosure and complete Financial Statements for court filings.
- Schedule and manage client consultations, court dates, and other appointments.
- Oversee the service and filing of legal documents with the court.
- Performs all other duties.
Qualifications & Experience :
- Legal Assistant / Law Clerk Certification.
- 3+ years of experience as a Legal Assistant or Law Clerk in Family Law.
- In-depth knowledge of family law processes, documentation, and court filing procedures.
- Exceptional organizational skills and the ability to handle multiple tasks efficiently.
- Strong communication skills with a focus on client service and confidentiality.
- Proficiency in MS Office Suite, Adobe, DivorceMate, and MatterSphere or similar document management systems.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
