Job Description
We are currently seeking a qualified Project Controls Specialist to join our Mining and Infrastructure team, based out of Toronto, ON .
The Project Controls Specialist will be responsible for cost control, planning and scheduling for engineering and / or construction projects in the mining and infrastructure markets and have the opportunity to work on a variety of mining, industrial and infrastructure projects.

Duties & Responsibilities :
- Provides technical guidance, training, auditing, and staffing support for cost, planning and scheduling on projects.
- Reviews and provides input into technical standards, guidelines, and procedures for developing, maintaining and monitoring project schedules and cost systems.
- Interfaces with designated management and client counterparts for specific costing, planning and scheduling tasks.
- Set project controls guidelines and responsibilities within a Project Execution Plan, as well as implements tools and systems to effectively manage, control and report on earned value management, cashflow, cost, revenue, forecasting and schedule for projects.
- Set up schedules (including schedule preparation plan and basis) and proposal schedules plus all associated costing controls and systems.
- Supports business development with proposal efforts and provides input to proposals and client presentations.
- Audits projects to ensure the quality of cost, planning and scheduling functions.
- Develops and implements cost, planning and scheduling training programs.
- Conducts personnel performance reviews when delegated.
- Participates in interviews for potential candidates and makes recommendations for employment decisions.
- Participates in developing and presenting training classes on designated subjects and on-the-job training for specific processes and practices.
Qualifications
- 10 to 15 years of experience in EPC / EPCM projects in cost, planning and scheduling and / or project controls management.
- College and / or University Degree in a related field.
- Experienced with Earned Value Management and Project Management Software.
- Advanced proficiency in Primavera P6, Microsoft Applications & Visio.
- Ability to produce, read and manipulate schedules and scheduling curves / reports.
- Applied knowledge of cost engineering / cost controls. Supervision of assigned personnel is an asset.
- Experience in all phases of project lifecycle (proposal, initiation, execution, closeout)
- Home Office and Site experience.
- Must understand control requirements for Studies through EPCM Project Controls Management
- Capable of working independently with minimal supervision.
- Self motivated with a willingness to take on increasing responsibility.
