Reporting to the Project Controls Lead, the successful candidate will be responsible for all project cost control support, including all daily cost allocations, scope change management and profit and loss reporting.
This position will be based out of Toronto, ON
What you will be doing :
- Responsible for the set up of project PM system with related cost, quantity, hours data, while ensuring alignment with estimate.
- Manage project cost and revenue budgets.
- Manage the project scope change management process including estimating, cost management and forecasting (Delays, Productivity Issues, Extra Work, etc.).
- Oversee daily timesheet labor, equipment and procurement costs and their allocation to the correct CBS code.
- Responsible to for the assessment reporting of project committed, incurred and forecasted costs.
- Ensure that project cost coding management is appropriate for all original budget cost code allocations, scope changes and internal cost trends.
- Produce project and portfolio cost and cashflow reporting and Earned Value Management reporting.
- Coordinate with other members of the construction management team to ensure that direct and subcontractor trades productivity is managed, understood and incorporated into cost forecasting.
- Coordinate the daily LEMS workflow to ensure the timely approval of project invoicing and transparent information in the event of a project financial audit.
- Responsible to manage the project monthly invoicing process. Ensure that it is prepared on a timely basis.
- Coordinate with Finance Team to track project receivables.
- Manage all cost management analysis for internal Profit and Loss Quarterly reporting.
- Ensure that project risk and contingency is accounted for and managed appropriately.
- Ensure that project accruals are calculated and communicate with the project finance team.
- Aid in the development of continuous improvement reporting for the Construction Management team.
What We Are Looking For
- post-secondary education, such as a degree or diploma in a related field, and / or relevant combination of experience.
- 7+ years of Project Controls experience
- Experience on large infrastructure projects is preferred
- Experience within EPC projects or leading project controls in engineering or design projects is preferred
- Knowledge of cost engineering best practices is required
- AACEI CCP (Certified Cost Professional) certification would be considered an asset
- Experienced with Earned Value Management and Project Management Software
- Proficient in MS Office with a focus within Microsoft Excel
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Organization and time-management skills; able to multi-task efficiently and meet deadlines
- Motivated, confident, and possess a get-it-done attitude
- Strong collaboration skills with the project team and with client are a requirement, with a commitment to positive team dynamic
- Must be able to proactively seek personal development opportunities and be willing to receive constructive feedback
- The ability to work independently to accomplish the tasks assigned
- Ability to travel and work remotely as required
