We are currently seeking a Manager, IT Risk Advisory Services to join our team temporarily for a term of 12 months.
The Manager, IT Risk Advisory Services provides advice on technology administration and application development to improve overall credit union performance and ensure the security of member, employee, and corporate assets.
This role is accountable for developing the IT & cyber risk management framework, performing IT risk assessments, and recommending improvements to IT governance processes.
The IT Risk Advisory Manager works closely with other risk leaders, technology leaders and other members of the FWCU team to ensure successful execution on the strategic plan;
identifies technology and change management risks with the primary focus of improving overall financial and service performance through the design and implementation of mitigation strategies.
Here’s what would be included as a part of your typical day
- Technology Risk Management Framework : Develops the IT risk management framework in accordance with COBIT framework; monitors, updates, and implements the IT security control framework, technology risk assessments, security governance reviews and IT change management reviews.
- Project Management : Develops and implements project risk assessments and project health checks to identify areas of vulnerability and risk to project completion.
Provides recommendations to risk leaders on improvements to FWCU change management processes.
- Business Continuity Plan : Works with other key FWCU risk leaders to implement and ensure integrated Business Continuity Planning (BCP) and alignment of risk management processes.
- Risk Mitigation : Liaises with internal auditors and other corporate partners in the areas of internal control, fraud management, regulatory compliance and loss prevention;
assesses key IT operational requirements and designs risk mitigation strategies to minimize losses due to unplanned disruptions.
Enterprise and Business Development : Ensures the safeguarding of the organization, its members reputation and assets by identifying and managing threats to the achievement of its business objectives;
maintains and manages the business IT risk management plan for the credit union. Assesses exposures and ensures appropriate mitigation strategies are in place and current.
Required Skills, Experience & Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in technology or in a related discipline required; masters preferred
- Financial, Accounting or Risk Management designation preferred
- 5+ years post designation qualification experience in progressively senior positions within the financial services industry or in an IT-risk focused role required
- Prior experience leading change and / or managing projects preferred
- Strong leadership skills, with the ability to influence others within the organization
- Demonstrated written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively with a wide variety of stakeholders
- Strong analytical and problem solving skills, with the ability to develop creative options and recommendations to improve the overall effectiveness and efficiency of the organization
- Demonstrated knowledge of IT risk analysis, IT project management, IT vulnerability testing, control design, COBIT or ISO
- Displays an understanding of risk and risk ownership by being able to demonstrate adherence to policies and procedures.
Pay Transparency Salary Range : $87,280 - $111,800 Please note, the salary range mentioned in this job posting should serve as a guide.
The final compensation offered may vary based on a variety of factors including bonuses and / or incentives, or a candidate’s skills and experience.
