Position Summary :

Under the direction of theManager, Domestic Recruitment and Entry Advising, the Recruitment Officer( Officer ) is responsible for a range of activities that showcase George BrownCollege’s ( GBC ) 200+ programs to diverse prospects.

As a first point ofcontact for potential students of GBC, the Officer connects and engages withprospective students throughout the prospect to applicant conversion funnel andadmission funnel.

Key Responsibilities :

  • Supports the college’s overall enrolment targets.
  • Responsible for promoting George Brown College to prospective students through various outreach tactics, including high school visits, college fairs, and information sessions.
  • Represents the college at province-wide events, including, but not limited to Ontario College Information Program (CIP).
  • Organizes schedule(s). Makes travel and accommodation arrangements. Prepares and transports marketing collateral / giveaways / signage.

Sets up and tears down displays while using GBC’s resources to best advantage.

  • Provides comprehensive support throughout the application process, helping students understand admission requirements, financial aid options, and campus life.
  • Fosters relationships with high schools across the province.
  • Guides students, teachers, principals, guidance counsellors and parent / guardians on post-secondary and career options.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Educational and Experience Requirements :

  • Two-year diploma from a recognized post-secondary institution in Marketing, Human Resources, or other related field of education or equivalent.
  • Must have a valid Province of Ontario Class G driver’s license.
  • Minimum three (3) years’ experience in sales / marketing, public relations, advising or recruiting, preferably in a postsecondary education setting.
  • Experience building and maintaining relationships and engaging / influencing groups and individuals with varying interests.
  • Experience with the delivery and support of medium / large-scale events and experience coordinating volunteers during events.
  • Knowledge of the Ontario college system / structure and the Ontario high school system is an asset.

Skills andAttributes :

  • Proven excellent written and oral communication and public speaking skills.
  • Demonstrated presentation skills and the ability to develop and deliver information relevant to diverse audiences.
  • Solid organizational, planning, and time management skills with a high degree of initiative and independence.
  • Ability to work with a flexible schedule to accommodate the college’s various events and activities; overnight travel may be required for recruitment events.
  • Ability to lift between 20 kg or 44 lbs (, boxes, marketing / display units, etc.).
  • Demonstrated collaboration, teamwork, and interpersonal skills at a professional level.
  • Demonstrated commitment to uphold the College’s priorities on diversity and equity.

Interview process may consist of a practical skills component.

Notes :

The College requires proof of degrees, credentials or equivalencies from accredited regional or federal post-secondary institutions and / or their international equivalents.

Credentials may require validation at the time of interviews or offer.

Priority will be given to internal candidates per our Part-Time Support Staff Collective Agreement. External candidates are welcome to apply, and their applications will be considered after the internal review is complete.
