The day-to-day

Build relationships. Financial advisement. Client centric execution. United collaboration.

  • Build and maintain strong long-term relationships with discretionary high net worth clients and small institutional clients through exceptional service and strong communication that ensures customer retention and leads to customer advocacy.
  • Support Private Wealth Advisors in meeting and serving the needs of their investment clients.
  • Continually elevate the CWB Wealth client experience through collaboration and input into Client Service Delivery Model and processes to execute consistently.
  • Responsible for trading client portfolios - includes funding new accounts, raising cash for withdrawals, investing cash additions and rebalancing portfolios where required.
  • Partner with our in-house financial planners, outside experts (legal, accounting, tax) and provide clients with specialized services for tax, estate, and succession planning.
  • Preparation and review of proposals for prospective clients
  • Ensuring that Know Your Client (KYC) requirements are up to date.
  • Staying current on portfolio management solutions including 3rd party managers
  • Construct and adjust client Investment Policy as necessary to deliver client investment solutions to align with their specific objectives, time horizon, tax considerations, and risk tolerance.
  • Provide ongoing, regular, and clear advice and communication regarding client solutions as well as the firm's investment strategies and outlook.
  • Actively promote the CWB Wealth brand and investment beliefs regarding long term investment and commitment to quality companies.
  • Proactively contribute to CWB Wealth Management business goals through client referrals, CWB Group referrals, networking, and other prospecting.
  • Conduct all business in professional and ethical manner with integrity and commitment to fiduciary duty. Adhere to regulatory requirements such as know your client (KYC) and CWB Wealth specific policies and procedures.

Successful incumbent

You are an established Portfolio Manager whose focus is dedicated to building, fostering & sustaining meaningful client relationships.

Passionate about working with High Net Worth (HNW) clients to set realistic expectations and goals, you are motivated by business development through authentic communication & genuine care.

Your reputation of ethical & professional behavior is well established. You have a strong self-starter that contributes & collaborates effectively with your team.

You also demonstrate a high level of emotional intelligence, experience, and confidence to manage wealth clients through the entire market cycle, investing appropriately for client objectives & risk tolerance.

You have superior presentation, communications, and interpersonal skills and a demonstrated passion for exceptional client service.

You are deeply committed to continuous learning and development in wealth management and financial planning strategies and industry knowledge.

The incumbent will have the opportunity over time to transition into the Private Wealth Advisor role and look after their own clients.

Core knowledge requirements

  • CFA or CIM Designation required, F.Pl. designation strongly preferred
  • Relevant work experience for registration as a :
  • Portfolio Manager with the OSC (Ontario Securities Commission)
  • Financial Planner with the IFP (Institute of Financial Planning)
  • Confident and deep understanding of capital markets, risk, and wealth management products.
  • Knowledge in tax, estate, and succession planning is an asset

Demonstrated experience

  • 8 years investment industry experience, including 5 years portfolio management experience.
  • Proven experience in business development specific to networking, relationship building and client acquisition.
  • Proven track record of building wealth management relationships with clients, meeting objectives while aligning risk tolerance.
