Job Title : Structural Engineering Site Inspector Retrofit Project (Term Contract)

Job Overview :
We’re seeking a Structural Engineering Site Inspector on a contract basis to assist with structural site review visits for a retrofit project located in Bedford, Nova Scotia.
This project involves the installation of a custom bracing system designed to address structural deficiencies in the original superstructure.
The role will be responsible for conducting periodic site reviews to monitor installation progress and ensure quality control standards are maintained.
This role is ideal for a professional with a structural background field technician, site inspector, structural engineer, or similar who is capable of assessing and reporting on-site conditions.
This position does not require a professional engineering license.
Scope of Work :
- Site visits : Conduct one site visit every two weeks over the approximate 24-week project period.
- Project review : Observe and document construction progress, with a focus on the installation of structural bracing and adherence to Pretium’s design specifications.
- Report preparation : Provide written reports summarizing findings, including any discrepancies or quality concerns to project management.
- Communication : Collaborate closely with project engineers and construction crews to ensure a clear understanding of project requirements.

- Project Duration : Approximately January July 2025.
- Site Location : Bedford, Nova Scotia.
- Estimated Time Commitment : Approximately one site visit every two weeks for the project duration.
Qualifications :
- Structural background : Prior experience in construction, structural site inspections, or fieldwork in a structural engineering context.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to identify issues related to structural quality and adherence to design.
- Communication skills : Able to effectively document and report findings in a concise, professional manner.
- Familiarity with structural bracing systems and construction practices is an asset.
