FOR THIS PROCESS / INVENTORY

You must submit a complete application, consisting of screening questions which clearly demonstrate how you meet the screening criteria (education and experience) and a résumé.

The screening questions will be used as the primary tool in the screening process and the résumé will only be used to substantiate the information provided.

Your application in this inventory will be active for 4 months. A notice that your application is about to expire will be posted to the My jobs menu of your account 30 days before the end of your active period.

If you do not take action, your application will no longer be active and therefore no longer considered for this inventory.

We are accepting applications until December 31, to create an inventory of qualified candidates. However, you should apply now! Applications will be pulled as positions are identified for staffing.

The retest period for re-assessment within the context of this selection process is 6 months from the date of elimination at either the written exam, interview, or reference stage of the process.

If, after having been eliminated, you resubmit an application to this process, before the retest period has elapsed, your application will not be considered.

Intent of the process

Transport Canada is dedicated to building an inclusive workforce with a diversity of experiences, perspectives and backgrounds that represents Canada now and in the future.

In order to achieve this goal, management will be prioritizing applicants who self-identify as members of one or more of the Employment Equity designated groups (i.

A pool of partially qualified candidates (pending Second Language Evaluations and Security) will be established to make appointments for variety of jobs with different requirements, locations, and language profiles.

Your résumé.

In order to be considered, your application must clearly explain how you meet the following (essential qualifications)

The candidates MUST answer the screening questions and must provide concrete and detailed examples to clearly demonstrate how you meet the education and experience requirements listed in the essential qualifications and asset qualifications section.

Include one or two paragraphs on each screening criteria. The screening board cannot make any assumptions about your experience.

It is not sufficient to say that you have the required qualifications or to list your current duties. The résumé will be a secondary source to confirm the experience described in the screening questions.

EDUCATION :

ED1 : Graduation from a two-year program of study from a recognized post-secondary institution with acceptable specialization in computer science, information technology, information management or another specialty relevant to the position to be staffed.

Notes :

1. Indeterminate incumbents in the IT group on December 9, who do not possess the education prescribed above, are deemed to meet the minimum education standard based on their education, training and / or experience.

They must be accepted as having met the minimum education standard whenever this standard is called for when staffing positions in the IT group.

2. Indeterminate incumbents of positions in the CS group on May 10, , who do not possess the education prescribed above, are deemed to meet the minimum education standard based on their education, training and / or experience.

They must be accepted as having met the minimum education standard whenever this standard is called for when staffing positions in the IT group.

3. At the managers discretion, an acceptable combination of education, training and / or experience may serve as an alternative to the minimum education stated above.

Whenever the minimum education is met using this alternative, it is met for the specific position only and must be re-assessed for other positions for which this alternative has been specified by the manager.

EXPERIENCE :

EX1 : Significant* experience collaborating with team members, clients or external partners in the development of software.

EX2 : Recent* and significant experience in the implementation or maintenance of Information Management (IM) / Information Technology (IT) systems.

EX3 : Recent* and significant experience using code repositories while implementing, testing or providing support for IM / IT systems.

EX4 : Experience with producing technical documentation such as design documents, user guides or installation guides.

Recent is defined as experience that has been acquired within the last five years.

Significant is defined as a depth and breadth of experience that would normally be associated with the performance of the duties as a major function of the candidates employment for a period of approximately one year.
