Duties
As an IT Analyst, Software Solutions, you will be responsible for :
Provides technical support in the development, maintenance and testing of computer-based applications on various platforms such as supercomputers, mainframes, servers and microcomputers.
Analyzes requirements and develops specifications to write program code, procedures, technical guides and related systems / user documentation, select / develop appropriate test data, scripts and scenarios, conduct a variety of tests to identify program / system errors, and document the results.
Organizes and / or conducts program / quality assurance testing to ensure that developed applications meet specifications and client requirements.
Provides advice, guidance and information on work practices and procedures, methods, processes, platforms, technical environments and quality assessment activities required to develop and / or test new or enhanced applications.
Leads and / or participates as a member on work teams, meetings, committees and working groups, which may involve developing and giving presentations and individual and / or classroom training to clients and colleagues, coordinates the work of students and short-term workers and performs peer-coaching.

EDUCATION
Graduation from a two-year program of study from a recognized post-secondary institution with acceptable specialization in computer science, information technology, information management or another specialty relevant to the position to be staffed.
Note :

Indeterminate incumbents in the IT group on December 9, 2021 who do not possess the education prescribed above, are deemed to meet the minimum education standard based on their education, training and / or experience. They must be accepted as having met the minimum education standard whenever this standard is called for when staffing positions in the IT group.
2. Indeterminate incumbents of positions in the CS group on May 10, 1999, who do not possess the education prescribed above, are deemed to meet the minimum education standard based on their education, training and / or experience.
