Currently seeking an Accounts Receivable Clerk for a manufacturing company in Markham, ON. You will be responsible for financial and administrative duties in order to ensure effective, efficient and accurate financial and administrative operations.
This includes order entry, invoicing, data entry, month end support, management of documents and secure filing. All activities will ensure the company receives payment for goods and services in a timely manner
Duties :
- Maintain up-to-date orders from Customers
- Generate and send out invoices
- Carry out billing, collection and reporting activities according to specific deadlines
- Follow up on, collect and allocate payments
- Monitor customer account details for non-payments, delayed payments and other irregularities
- Research and resolve payment discrepancies
- Review AR aging to ensure follow up with delinquent accounts
- Maintain up to date accounts receivable customer files and records
- Follow established procedures for processing receipts, cash, etc.
- Prepare bank deposits and apply cash receipts
- Investigate and resolve customer invoicing queries
- Regular customer follow-up to initiate prompt collections
- Communicate with customers via phone, email or mail regarding orders, invoices and all related issues
- Assist with month-end closing
- Other duties as assigned by supervisor
Qualifications :
- Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting or related discipline is an asset
- Minimum of 3 years accounting and administration experience preferably in a manufacturing environment
- Sage background would be an asset
- Knowledge of relevant accounting and clerical procedures
- Knowledge of customer service principles and practices
- Ability to exhibit a calm friendly, courteous, and professional demeanor all times
- Skillful in keyboard data entry functions with speed and accuracy
- Proficiency in using Microsoft Word, Outlook, Excel, and other fundamental data based applications
- Excellent time management and prioritization skills with multitasking ability
- Information management and maintaining confidentiality
