What would you be doing?

Support the development and execution of the strategic and operational plans to achieve identified key performance targets through the establishment of enhanced HR practices.

Ensure the execution of all aspects of the THCF Human Resources Program.

Lead and develop the HR / Talent Acquisition / Payroll / Administration team.

Develop programs and processes to ensure compliance with provincial and / or state legislative requirements.

Create and manage the HR budget.

Lead the annual performance management cycles for both salaried and hourly staff.

Ensure staff have appropriate development plans, succession planning is completed, and a comprehensive talent management system is in place.

Through periodic market reviews, ensure salary ranges, total rewards, wage scales and pay / premiums remain competitive.

Maintain the job evaluation system to ensure compliance and equitable pay systems.

Implement employee opinion / engagement survey and other staff survey processes and executes on results.

Organize annual staff Retreat ensuring that agenda supports Foundation objectives.

Ensure processes are in place for effective new employee onboarding and offboarding.

Manage employee relations issues to mitigate the risk to the Foundation.

Responsible for the management of LTD, STD and return to work programs.

Responsible for all HR technology systems including payroll, applicant tracking systems and HRIS.

Oversee payroll and all related payroll processes.

Oversee the Organizational health and safety program.

Direct the development, delivery and evaluation of HR policies and programs in response to identified business requirements.

Accountable for operationalizing a comprehensive HR strategy that enables the Foundation to attract, motivate and retain top talent and enhance employer of choice recognition opportunities.

Design and deliver an effective HR communication plan.

On-going environmental scanning and research to stay abreast of emerging trends in employee HR design and relevant legislation, identifying opportunities that may be appropriate for THFC to consider.

The ideal candidate will bring extensive HR generalist experience, with a particular emphasis on developing robust employee relations strategies and streamlining the recruitment process to attract top talent.

THCF is seeking an individual with a proven track record of successfully managing employee relations issues, fostering a culture of open communication and inclusion while developing programs to retain top talent.

  • An undergraduate degree with a concentration in Human Resources (or equivalent).
  • CHRP / CHRL (or equivalent) certification is strongly preferred.
  • Senior progressive hands-on HR experience within a fast-paced, innovative environment - non-profit experience is considered an asset.
  • Deep knowledge and experience in human resources planning, organizational design and effectiveness, all aspects of recruitment, training and talent management programs and processes, total rewards, and HRIS.
  • Strong knowledge of Canada (and US) employment standards and legislation, in addition to HR regulations and best practices.
  • Bilingual French and English preferred.
  • Ability to exercise decision making with a moderate level of risk and ambiguity ability to make complex decisions for which there may be no set procedures based on systematic analysis, experience and judgment.
  • Ability to plan, work autonomously and to coordinate and manage complex projects, at times with multiple competing priorities or perspectives.
  • Ability to manage ambiguity, risk, and changing direction of projects and strategies.
  • A natural communicator, with the ability to tailor your style to suit all types of audiences.
  • Demonstrates a passion for high performance; supports and encourages the team to achieve excellence consistently.
  • A proactive results-oriented individual who can balance strategic responsibilities with day-to-day tactical responsibilities and anticipate and address emerging business needs and issues.
  • Comfortable communicating with senior leaders, Board members and key external stakeholders.
