Job Purpose :
The Senior Producer works independently to manage all aspects of video, radio, television, and integrated productions from start to finish, and is able to skillfully tackle projects across a variety of clients and genres.
The Senior Producer will execute the creative vision and make ideas come to life while managing costs within budget and adhering to deadlines.
He / she is a liaison for Production among the Creative and Account teams and will manage multiple projects simultaneously.
He / she is responsible for seeing a job through from its inception during the bidding process all the way to the shipment of the finished product.
He / she has excellent organization, creative, communication and interpersonal abilities.
Duties and responsibilities
- Manage large scale production jobs including both; full-up integrated productions with external production companies and in-house productions (shoot & finish)
- Owns all aspects of pre-production, production and post-production.
- Maintains communication with creative, account service, finance and clients to facilitate workflow.
- Responsible for negotiation, generation and managing all aspects of schedule and budget with external production companies and in-house production.
- Presents production budgets and schedules and addresses production related questions for internal teams and external clients.
- Finding the best production partners for each job, including director, editor, music house, color, and animation / motion graphics.
- Remains current on industry and technological trends.
- Fosters innovative solutions and mentor’s intermediate producers, editors and directors.
- Ensures adherence to quality and provide creative input at each stage of production process
- Supports leadership and process within department.
- Accountable for maintaining relationships, client satisfaction and management of expectations while ensuring that the work is on strategy, on time, and on budget and that projects are actualized, well documented, archived and closed.
- Facilitates trafficking of all campaign deliverables.
- Cultivation of strong relationships with all internal departments including creative teams, media teams, and account teams as well as industry partners.
- Assist in development of in-house content services
Qualifications :
- 5-8 years agency production experience
- Must be creative focused with the ability to see the technical challenges and the foresight to solve for those challenges early.
- Ability to remain calm during stressful situations and provide actionable solutions.
- Must possess meticulousness, organizational, problem-solving abilities.
- Effective presentation and communication skills, both oral and written.
- Recognized ability to manage multiple projects and priorities with attention to detail and reliable follow-through.
- Technical understanding of post-production, broadcast and digital deliverables
- Experience working with cost consultants
- Experience in New Media production
- Broadcast / Media Production diploma or certificate a definite asset
- Excellent negotiator, communicator, and relationship builder
- Familiar with the ACTRA and UDA commercial agreement
- Understanding of MAC OS & MS office software
- Ability to translate creative briefs and storyboards into visual representations
- Detail-oriented
- Ability to work independently
- Ability to travel internationally
