Job description

SENIOR PRODUCER

Monks is seeking a  Senior Producer with a knack for design, animation and video editing at scale. This senior level role requires prior experience in digital advertising, transcreation, asset creation and / or integrated production, as well as an understanding of what is needed in the first place to make first-rate projects come about.

Role and Responsibilities :

  • You’ll partner with one of our biggest clients to produce digital advertising assets that require our in-house teams to deliver quality and quantity.
  • You are responsible for the process and completion of multiple design & animation projects simultaneously, managing the in- and output of our Design, Illustration and Animation teams.
  • A quality watchdog, you work closely together with our Program / Project Managers and production teams across several time zones to make sure pixels are pushed to perfection.
  • You make sure that the work meets the client’s strategy, brand and creative goals, as well as our own quality standards.
  • You help scoping and quoting projects, working with senior Monks and department leads to propose timelines and ballparks.
  • A big part of your day-to-day is briefing team members on delivery objectives and keeping everyone informed on the progress of projects, and the latest office gossip.
  • You make sure deadlines are met with lethal precision, and flag the ones that aren’t attainable upfront.
  • You schedule, track and prioritize assignments and make sure the right resources (we mean people of course!) are available.
  • You liaise between clients and teams to make sure we nail milestone after milestone, hustling internal resources to meet external deadlines no matter what.

Requirements :

  • You have at least 8+ years of hands-on experience doing awesome work as a Producer or Project Manager in digital advertising or creative production.
  • You have experience creating assets-at-scale (high volume).
  • You have a solid understanding of the creative workflow of fast-paced design and animation projects.
  • You also have sufficient technical knowledge to foresee and address possible planning / production issues, translating the complexity of such projects into lucid language that clients can understand.
  • We need a true-born and fun-loving team player who can successfully work across teams, time zones and technologies.
  • You can collaborate comfortably with digital artisans including creatives, illustrators, designers, 2D animators, 3D animators, concept artists.
  • Setting up and managing production projects between offices is no easy task and requires superb written and verbal communication skills.
  • Spreadsheets are your natural habitat, project management tools your best friend (e.g., TeamGantt, 10,000ft, Basecamp, Post-it notes).
  • You break the ice, instead of breaking a sweat when in front of the client and when facing crazy cases of ambiguity.
  • You have the experience and tools to solve problems in your back pocket, and you're not afraid to use them as needed.
  • IMPORTANT NOTES

  • Organically own the LOB and managerial responsibilities :
  • Maintain a constant pulse on budget, timing, scope and resourcing for the entire LOB, not just personal projects
  • Lead client calls
  • Ensure Harvest / Forecast are up to date and prompt team to make updates if not
  • Should have experience running multiple large scale campaigns across variable lines of businesses. The Sr Producer’s skill set should be refined such that they are able to jump into a new team quickly and establish an efficient way of working with both the internal team and client counterparts, even if they have never worked in that Line of Business or with the clients before.
  • Have an instinctive ability to pivot, change course on a workstream or in a conversation. The Sr. Producer should embody the presence of a leader on all client and internal calls
  • Establish oneself as a natural resource for questions and support to the client and internal team
  • The Sr. producer should be the last line of defense for issues and strategic pivots throughout the course of a project. Should be able to react quickly to changes without being too reactive in nature
  • Report up to Sr management & Leadership team with important updates, flags and questions
  • It is important for the Sr. Producer to come to Sr. Management / leadership conversations with proposed solutions top of mind
  • Check in with Sr management / Leadership on a regular basis with clear and concise updates
  • Seek opportunities for efficiencies and growth for both the internal team and the client relationship
  • A Sr Producer may not always be a direct people manager, but the expectation is that this individual is able to take on direct reports, strategize career growth and feedback with reportees, handle difficult conversations when needed, and juggle the oversight and support of more Jr Producers, even in the midst of their own large campaign work. The Sr Producer is a managing leader of the Producer team and should be able to act as a member of team leadership in this way.
  • Check in regularly with other LOB producers to ensure ongoing understanding of the health of the LOB
  • Have the instinct to coach other producers when overseeing projects
  • Delegate production responsibilities and communicate expectations and deadlines to the team regularly
  • Maintain composure and professionalism on ALL calls
  • Autonomously understand when it is important to flag things to clients, what information should be shared and when more time is needed to give a firm answer / commitment
  • Instinctively know the necessary actions to take when kicking off / producing / delivering a project, including :
  • Producer tool setups (Asana, calendars, Harvest / Forecast, etc.)
  • Recaps of calls mid-production, check ins with client, confirmations of received communications, etc.
  • Formal delivery emails, asset counts, archival of projects, etc.
  • Monks is committed to ensuring equal access and participation for people with disabilities. We are committed to treating people with disabilities in a way that allows them to maintain their dignity and independence. We believe in integration, and we are committed to meeting the needs of people with disabilities in a timely manner. We will do so by removing and preventing barriers to accessibility and by meeting our accessibility requirements under local accessibility laws.
