A seven partner, locally owned firm with offices in Carleton Place, Cobden, Morrisburg, Pembroke and Winchester, our over 50 staff serve companies at all stages of their development from emerging and owner-managed businesses to large private companies, not-for-profit organizations, professionals, and individuals.
Your primary responsibilities will include :
- Execution and completion of a wide range of Audit, Review and Compilation engagements, both independently and as part of a team
- Analyze statistical, financial, and accounting reports; accounting processes and operational procedures; provide account reconciliations and propose adjusting entries
- Preparation of personal, corporate, non-profit organization information and charitable tax returns
- Work with senior tax staff to provide client tax planning services including research of tax issues and preparation of memoranda
- Collaborate with peers and senior management on file planning and completion within time constraints
- Assist senior tax staff with the preparation and presentation of technical sessions to firm staff
- Provide personal, attentive service to clients to encourage productive working relationships within core hours of 9 : 30 to 4 : 00
A successful candidate will have :
- Completion of an Accounting Program College or University
- Related work experience in public accounting or within a small to medium sized business would be an asset
- High proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams) and technical competencies to execute work at the direction received up front from other experienced staff using Caseware / Caseview, TaxPrep, QuickBooks Online and / or any other tax preparation software.
Any prior experience with these programs is an asset
- Excellent attention to detail, interpersonal, verbal, and written communication, project management and organizational skills
- Ability to detect and solve problems
- Sound judgement regarding confidential information and sensitive matters
- Professional manner, strong work ethic and ability to work both independently and as part of a team
- Ability to provide value-added service to clients and strong understanding of a client-focused fast paced work environment including related deadlines.
Ability to effectively pivot between tasks, prioritize and manage deliverables to meet conflicting deadlines
- The ability to accept feedback and apply feedback to future engagements
