Description
The International Accountant's role is to support EPRI International, Inc.'s accounting team in their growing global business by providing world-class accounting, reporting, and operational support to internal and external stakeholders in multiple countries.
Key Responsibilities :
Independently manage month-end, quarter-end, and year-end financial closing procedures for several international entities including accurate preparation of journal entries.
Prepare complex Intercompany chargeback calculations and journal entries for assigned accounts and expense accruals.
Independently manage monthly and bi-weekly payroll cycles for several international entities by including accurate preparation of journal entries.
Work closely with Company’s external payroll partners to ensure compliance with local requirements.
Manage the accurate reporting of the international aspects of corporate income tax and VAT returns in various countries.
Work with Company’s external accounting and tax partners to ensure compliance with local requirements.
Examine and process invoices from vendors and contractors and reconcile vendor accounts and payments.
Assist with the quarterly forecast for bank funding.
Prepare and maintain analysis of exchange rates for financial planning. Establish procedures related to revaluation of foreign currency balances, conversion of non-US currencies and related adjustments.
Reconcile and analyze assigned accounts. Review the work of others for accuracy and completeness.
Reconciliation of intercompany balances.
Prepare and assist in the preparation of internal and external Financial Statements for various countries. Perform variance analysis and related research.
Support the annual external international audits as well as periodic internal audits, including the preparation of PBC schedules.
Review the work papers of others.
Identify and implement process improvements.
Proactively identify, analyze, and resolve problems, including information systems and reports enhancements.
Assist in developing, documenting, and ensuring adherence to published policies and procedures.
Interpret and apply US GAAP and International GAAP and accounting control measures in the course of job performance.
Maintain effective working relationships with internal and external customers.
Promote continuous process improvement in all areas of responsibility.
Assist with ad-hoc projects, as required.
Education and Experience :
Require bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance. MBA or CPA desirable.
Require 8 years of practical international accounting experience and a basic understanding of payroll accounting.
3 years working experience in SAP or other ERP FI accounting system (GL, AP, AR).

Strong understanding of USGAAP and familiarity with International GAAP differences, and capable of independently researching and interpreting accounting guidelines.
Proficient in using the entire Microsoft Office Suite : Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Visio, and Adobe PDF.
Excellent interpersonal, oral, and written communication abilities and open to an international business atmosphere.
Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills, with the ability to multitask and thrive under pressure.
Independent hands-on mentality and effective work with minimal daily supervision to meet objectives and deadlines.

EPRI is committed to complying with the regulatory framework governing export control, consisting of international treaties, U.
S. laws, regulations and trade sanctions, and where applicable, foreign laws governing export control. These include the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR), Part 810 nuclear export regulations, and the Export Administration Regulations (EAR).
