Data/Analytics Consultant- HYBRID

Join our Vancouver government client on an initial 12-month contract as a Data & Analytics Consultant. We are seeking an expert to be responsible for gathering business requirements, assessing data needs and build data / analytics solutions (enterprise data pipelines and data models for the various dashboards and reports).

Responsibilities

• Conduct integration, design, and execution of various reporting and analytics projects by identifying business needs and viable technical solutions to support organizational goals.
• Assess functional specification documents and present the suggested technical design to development leads, utilizing strong analytical and communication skills to ensure alignment with business requirements.
• Create sustainable reporting solutions by adhering to the approved architectural direction and technical design, ensuring projects are completed safely, with high quality, within budget, and on schedule.
• Support the maintenance of reporting solutions through routine operational sustainment activities, efficiently and punctually, aiding various project and sustainment teams throughout the organization.
• Work with functional and technical teams to validate business / information requirements, translate them into a conceptual business design model, and address development issues to provide lasting technical solutions.
• Oversee solution development by providing timely progress updates and current issue reports to the team lead, ensuring work is organized and structured according to standards.
• Prepare documentation for technical solutions and new procedures by developing process flows, job aids, and standard operating procedures to assist end users within the organization.

Qualifications

• At least five years of experience in consulting within reporting and analytics, or an equivalent field.
• A Bachelor’s degree or technical diploma in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field
• Strong technical proficiency in data modeling, dashboards, analysis, and web intelligence
• Expertise in performance tuning
• Experience in designing and constructing data / information architectures for integrated reporting and analytical solutions
• Understanding of change management procedures and policies
• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills suitable for a professional environment
