As a Yard Operator specializing in manufacturing & logistics, you will be the backbone of the daily distribution cycle. In this role, you will be responsible for navigating a large Sit-Down Counterbalance (SDCB) Forklift (6000 LB capacity) through a busy yard, ensuring that heavy inventory like roofing shingles is organized, moved, and loaded with the utmost care.

Responsibilities• Operate a 6000 LB Sit-Down Counterbalance (SDCB) Forklift to move and stack roofing materials.
• Perform heavy manual labor, including the repetitive lifting of shingle packs weighing up to 75 lbs.
• Conduct daily safety inspections of the forklift and the yard area.
• Manage the exchange and handling of propane tanks for machinery.
• Organize the yard inventory to ensure efficient loading and unloading of delivery trucks.
• Maintain a clean and safe outdoor work environment, adhering to all safety protocols.
• Participate in mandatory safety e-learning and on-site training sessions.
• Assist customers and drivers with order verification and loading procedures.
Qualifications• Valid Forklift Operator license/certification is mandatory.
• Proven experience as a Forklift Operator or Yard Operator in a heavy industrial setting.
• Previous experience in the roofing or construction industry is highly preferred.
• Demonstrated ability to lift 75 lbs on a regular basis throughout the shift.
• Experience with propane tank handling and replacement.
• Ability to work the full 7:30 AM to 4:00 PM shift consistently.
