Role Summary

Terus Construction, a division of Colas Western Canada Inc., is seeking a Heavy Duty Equipment Operator to join our team in Cranbrook, BC.

Main Responsibilities

The responsibilities of the equipment operator include, but are not limited to:

• Capable of operating heavy equipment
• Operate all heavy equipment safely and efficiently according to all relevant legislation, policies and procedures
• Must be self-motivated, driven and able to work well independently
• Perform daily maintenance and safety checks of equipment
• Conduct pre-operational checks on equipment, and clean, lubricate, and refill the equipment as necessary
• Ensure that equipment is stored safely and securely
• Capable of loading and unloading trucks safely and efficiently
• Able to take and follow instruction from supervisor, adjust to changing conditions and communicate any and all needs to supervisor, as well as working as part of a team
• Capable of doing various tasks and labour duties as required

Requirements

• A minimum Class 5 drivers license (preference given to applicants with class 1 or 3 license)
• Must comply with the company’s drug and alcohol testing requirements
• 2-3 years experience operating a diverse range of construction equipment is required
• 3-5 years in the construction industry is preferred

Profile

The anticipated hourly wage for this position is $35-$38 CAD per hour. The final compensation package will be determined based on factors including the candidate's job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
