What You’ll Be Doing
- Design and model mechanical components and assemblies using SolidWorks, leveraging a Master Model approach
- Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams including mechanical, electrical, and machine shop personnel
- Perform fit checks, validation, and verification on the shop floor to ensure design accuracy and manufacturability
- Maintain and update Bills of Materials (BOMs) within an ERP system
- Create and update detailed engineering drawings and part documentation
- Develop and refine sheet metal, plastic, and welded components
- Ensure designs respect interface boundaries and incorporate master model best practices
What You Bring (Must Have)
- 5+ years of experience as a Mechanical Designer using SolidWorks
- Hands-on experience with:Sheet metal designWelding processesPlastic components
- Strong understanding of Master Model methodology, including interface control and feature ownership
- Experience working directly on the shop floor, conducting fit checks and validating designs
- Experience with ERP systems, including BOM creation and maintenance
Nice to Have
- Experience building or owning a Master Model
- Familiarity with Arena ERP
- Experience in new product development (NPD)
- Strong drafting and documentation skills
Team & Environment
- Collaborative team of mechanical engineers and technical specialists
- Work on a large, multidisciplinary engineering program
- On-site, 5 days/week, with flexibility for occasional remote work (., design/detailing days without hardware interaction)

This is a Contract position based out of Waterloo, ON.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $50.00 - $60.00/hr.
