Job description

Your newpany

You’ll be joining a well‑established, privately owned engineering consulting firm with a strong reputation in mission‑critical facilities across Canada. Thepany has a stable team, long‑term client relationships, and an active pipeline of data centre
work projected well into the next three to five years.
They are in the early stages of building a Calgary presence
and are hiring their first local team members. This is a genuine opportunity to help establish operations in the region while staying closely connected to experienced teams based in Central and Eastern Canada.
The culture is collaborative, practical, and people‑focused. This is not a churn‑and‑burn consultancy. The intention is to hire long‑term and build something durable.

Your new role

This is a senior, hands‑on role focused on mission‑critical electrical systems for data centres and similar highly demanding facilities.
In the initial phase, your priority will be to act as the firm’s local technical eyes and ears on active construction projects in the Calgary area. Over time, the role will evolve toward deeper technical involvement, project leadership, and long‑term growth within the Calgary operation.
Key responsibilities include:
  • Reviewing electrical designs and construction drawings for mission‑critical facilities
  • Providing site supervision and field support during active construction phases
  • Coordinating with contractors, clients, and internal engineering teams
  • Supporting systems related to generators, UPS, ATS, and critical power distribution
  • Ensuring work aligns with client standards, codes, and best practices
  • Identifying technical issues early and helping drive practical solutions
  • Contributing to future project development as the local team grows

What you'll need to succeed

  • Approximately 10–15+ years of experience in electrical building systems
  • Strong mission‑critical experience is essential Data centres
are ideal, but experience with hospitals, clean rooms, pharmaceutical facilities, or other critical environments will also be considered
  • P.Eng designation is preferred, but a senior technologist or technician with deep experience will also be considered
  • Solid knowledge of backup power systems, UPS, generators, and critical infrastructure
  • Strong attention to detail and a genuine interest in evolving codes, standards, and client requirements
  • Clearmunicator who can work confidently with stakeholders on site
  • Canadian experience is required

What you'll get in return

  • The chance to be one of the first hires in building a Calgary operation
  • Long‑term project stability with a multi‑year data centre pipeline
  • Annual performance‑based bonus tied topany results and individual contribution
  • Flexible working arrangements, including work‑from‑home when not on site
  • A highly accessible, family‑oriented leadership team that values trust and transparency
  • Future opportunities for progression, increased responsibility, and potential participation inpany ownership for key contributors
