Contributes to the overall success of the AML Payment Scanning Technology in Canada and globally ensuring specific individual goals, plans, initiatives are executed / delivered in support of the team’s business strategies and objectives. Ensure all activities conducted are in compliance with governing regulations, internal policies and procedures
In this role you will:
- Champions a customer focused culture to deepen client relationships and leverage broader Bank relationships, systems and knowledge.
- Works with key stakeholders within all business functions to align technology solutions with business strategies.
- Managing the project team’s plans and interfacing with the project and business managers. The main function of a Tech Lead is to oversee the application of project management methodology during all phases of the project cycle, with responsibilities that include project design, scope management, cost control, quality and performance reporting.
- Work with AML Application Team to design end-to-end solutions.
- Gathers requirements from business units and translates those into technical specifications.
- Participate in code reviews and continuously improve the process in the translation of business requirements into mapping and technical requirements.
- Define and enforce data governance, data quality, and data standards.
- Participate in sprints/projects as development lead and coach development team in technical matters.
- Partner closely with other members of functional teams to define business requirements Lead teams of developers in the delivery of high-quality software solutions that meet business needs
- Define test plans and ensure that products are defect free before User Acceptance Testing
- Facilitate the Integrated System Testing process, developing rollout plans and procedures
- Ensure appropriate systems development and project management processes are being utilized
- Supports one or more highly complex business processes.
- Works on multiple projects as a project team member.
- Serves as a liaison between the architecture community and the IT organization in order to provide technical solutions to meet user needs.
- Demonstrates an informed knowledge of business functions to resolve problems and capitalize on improvement opportunities
- Understand how the Bank’s risk appetite and risk culture should be considered in day-to-day activities and decisions.
- Actively pursues effective and efficient operations of his/her respective areas in accordance with Scotiabank’s Values, its Code of Conduct and the Global Sales Principles, while ensuring the adequacy, adherence to and effectiveness of day-to-day business controls to meet obligations with respect to operational, compliance, AML/ATF/sanctions and conduct risk.

Do you have the skills that will enable you to succeed in this role?
- Bachelor's degree in technical field such as computer science, computer engineering or related field required
- 5+ years in development
- 5+ years of technical leadership and mentorship
- Experience and/or knowledge of AML and KYC domain
- Experience with Microsoft Project
