Job description
Job Description

CIMA+ is expanding its presence across the Greater Golden Horseshoe (GGH) and Ontario. Our Earth and Environment team is seeking a Senior Geoscientist or Environmental Engineer to play a key leadership role in delivering complex, multidisciplinary projects.

In this position, you will lead and contribute to high-impact environmental projects, including Phase I & II Environmental Site Assessments (ESA), Excess Soils Management, and brownfield redevelopment projects. You will be involved throughout the full project lifecycle—from proposal development and strategic positioning to technical delivery, quality assurance, and client relationship management.

As a senior member of the team, you will also act as a trusted advisor, ensuring best practices, managing risks, and mentoring the next generation of professionals, all while contributing to the growth and visibility of our services in the region.

If you're looking to take ownership of impactful projects and contribute to the growth of a dynamic team, we’d love to connect.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage multidisciplinary environmental and engineering projects, ensuring quality, timelines, and budgets are met.
  • Act as a senior technical reference, overseeing methodologies and conducting final reviews of deliverables.
  • Support business development activities, including proposal preparation, client relationship management, and strategic positioning.
  • Coordinate effectively with internal teams, clients, and external partners to ensure seamless project execution.
  • Identify and manage project risks while ensuring compliance with applicable regulations and industry standards.
  • Mentor and support junior team members, fostering technical excellence and professional development.

Qualifications

Education: Bachelor’s degree in environmental science, earth science, or environmental engineering (required); graduate degree (M.Sc., M.A.Sc., M.Env.) is an asset.

Professional Membership: Registered with Professional Geoscientists Ontario (PGO) or Professional Engineers Ontario (PEO) (required).

Experience: 10+ years of experience in environmental site investigations.

Regulatory Knowledge: Strong understanding of municipal, provincial, and federal environmental regulations.

Skills:

  • Strong leadership and project management capabilities in multidisciplinary environments.
  • Excellent communication and client relationship skills.
  • Commitment to quality, technical rigor, and continuous improvement.
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively.
  • Integrity, team spirit and a commitment to excellence.

Other Requirements:

  • Valid Canadian driver’s license (required).
  • French language skills (an asset).

At CIMA+, we value diversity of talent and perspective. You think you can add value, but don't meet all the job requirements? We invite you to apply, because everyone has something unique to offer. The outstanding talents that choose to join us at CIMA+ soon realize that we go all out to encourage them to grow. We look forward to hearing how you can contribute to our success.

Why choose CIMA+? Because we offer you:

  • Comprehensive Group Benefits available from day one for all permanent employees working at least 20 hours per week.
  • Employee and Family Assistance Program.
  • Retirement Savings Plan (RRSP) with up to 4% employer contribution.
  • As an employee-owned company, an annual opportunity to purchase shares for all employees.
  • Flexible work schedule in a hybrid work mode.
  • Work/Life balance policy across Canada.
  • 3-5 weeks of vacation, based on years of relevant experience.
  • Tailored training to improve your existing skills.
