Job description:
Are you passionate about pushing the boundaries of space technology? We are hiring an Intermediate–Senior Mechanical Testing Engineer to support a major robotics and space program. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in hands‑on testing environments and enjoys working on complex, mission‑critical engineering systems.
Job Overview
You will be part of a multidisciplinary engineering team responsible for planning and executing mechanical testing activities for advanced space robotics hardware. Your work will contribute directly to a high‑visibility program entering a critical design and validation phase.
Mechanical Testing Engineer – Robotics & Space
Brampton, ON (Hybrid – 3 days onsite per week)
40 hours/week | Full‑time Contract | Start: ASAP
Must be eligible for CGP (Controlled Goods Program) clearance.
Must be eligible for Reliability Security Clearance.
What You’ll Do
- Develop, design, and implement mechanical test plans, methodologies, and procedures.
- Lead vibration, shock, and dynamic behavior test campaigns, including reviewing test plans, data acquisition, and generating reports.
- Perform functional, performance, and quality testing to identify defects and system issues.
- Analyze test results, identify anomalies, and document findings in engineering tracking tools.
- Provide clear feedback to design, development, and cross‑functional teams.
- Create and maintain test environments, maintenance procedures, and continuous improvements for testing processes.
- Contribute to documentation including test plans, test reports, procedures, and results summaries.
Must‑Have Qualifications
- 5 + years of experience writing test plans and detailed test reports.
- Hands‑on experience executing mechanical tests.
- Experience with thermal and vibration testing.
- Solid troubleshooting abilities in a technical environment.
Nice to Have
- TVAC (Thermal Vacuum) testing experience.
- Prior experience in the space industry or aerospace component testing.
Soft Skills
- Excellent communication and documentation skills.
- Ability to collaborate effectively within a multidisciplinary engineering team.
- Strong attention to detail and ownership of quality in test execution.
