Job description

At Clark Builders, we’re more than a construction company — we’re purpose driven partners committed to building stronger communities. Serving institutional, commercial, and industrial clients across Western and Northern Canada since 1974, we bring a relationship-based approach, deep expertise, and a commitment to safety, innovation, and sustainability to everything we do. As part of the Turner Construction family, we offer the personalized culture of a local team with the strength of a global leader. Learn more about our Purpose and what drives us by visiting our Who We Are page.

The QA/QC Coordinator supports the implementation, execution, and continuous improvement of project-specific Quality Assurance and Quality Control (QA/QC) processes to ensure construction activities are completed in accordance with contract requirements, project specifications, applicable codes, and Clark Builders' quality standards.

Working closely with the Superintendent, Project Manager, subcontractors, consultants, and clients, the QA/QC Coordinator plays a key role in coordinating inspections, resolving quality issues, maintaining project documentation, and supporting successful project turnover.

Essential Duties & Key Responsibilities:

  • Implement, maintain, and continuously improve the project-specific QA/QC Execution Plan and associated templates within Procore.
  • Audit subcontractor QA/QC processes and documentation to ensure compliance with project requirements.
  • Coordinate and maintain quality documentation, including inspection reports, RFIs, submittals, testing records, turnover documentation, and closeout packages.
  • Participate in field inspections and identify, document, and track deficiencies through successful resolution.
  • Coordinate third-party testing, consultant reviews, owner inspections, and Authority Having Jurisdiction (AHJ) inspections.
  • Review construction drawings, specifications, shop drawings, and contract documents to identify discrepancies, clashes, or constructability concerns.
  • Prepare and manage RFIs and support change management activities to resolve design conflicts.
  • Monitor subcontractor quality performance and proactively identify recurring issues related to workmanship, manpower, material procurement, scheduling, or communication.
  • Work collaboratively with project teams to resolve quality concerns while maintaining positive working relationships with subcontractors, consultants, and clients.
  • Assist with material receiving inspections to verify compliance with approved submittals and project specifications.
  • Develop and maintain systems to track inspections, quality signoffs, turnover requirements, and subcontractor handovers.
  • Prepare internal and client-facing QA/QC reports as required.
  • Assist with daily construction reporting by documenting completed work, planned work not completed, and reasons for schedule delays.
  • Support project closeout by tracking, reviewing, and organizing turnover documentation, warranties, testing records, and final quality deliverables.
  • Promote compliance with Clark Builders' safety policies, quality standards, and project procedures.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Diploma or Degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Engineering Technology, Construction Engineering Technology, or a related discipline.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in construction quality control, field coordination, project engineering, or a related construction role.
  • Experience working on commercial, industrial, or institutional (ICI) construction projects is considered an asset.
  • Strong understanding of construction methods, materials, quality processes, and industry standards.
  • Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, specifications, shop drawings, QA/QC plans, and contract documents.
  • Experience in using Procore or similar construction management software is preferred.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Valid driver's license with the ability to travel throughout the project site.
