Job description

Why BCAA?

Feel proud of what you do and help shape the future of BC at a BC Top Employer. We’re driven by purpose – delivering peace of mind to one in three BC households with insurance, roadside assistance, auto repair, Evo Car Share and Evolve E-Bike Share. With a long history of keeping roads safe and giving back in ways that build stronger communities, we offer a wide variety of meaningful, rewarding careers that move BC forward.

We are currently hiring a Temporary Full-Time Procurement Analyst to join our Finance team, reporting to the Manager, Treasury. The expected end date of the contract is November 30, 2027

In this role, you will own assigned sourcing and procurement activities across BCAA, from intake and planning through evaluation, recommendation, execution and supplier performance oversight. You will lead competitive sourcing events, advise stakeholders on procurement options, analyze supplier proposals and spend data, and help strengthen procurement governance. Your work will support better supplier selection, cost optimization, supplier performance and a strong internal stakeholder experience.

Who you are:

  • You are a commercially minded problem-solver who can evaluate cost, quality, service and risk to recommend practical procurement solutions.
  • You are a trusted advisor who communicates clearly and builds effective relationships with stakeholders and suppliers.
  • You are analytical and detail-oriented, with the ability to interpret supplier proposals, pricing structures, spend data and performance metrics.
  • You take ownership of your work, manage multiple priorities independently and deliver results in a deadline-driven environment.
  • You exercise sound judgment, tact and discretion when handling sensitive supplier, commercial and confidential information.
  • You look for opportunities to improve processes, strengthen governance and create measurable value.

What you’ll do:

  • Lead assigned competitive sourcing events, including RFPs, RFIs and RFQs, from planning through completion.
  • Develop sourcing strategies, conduct market research, identify supplier opportunities and evaluate sourcing options that support business objectives.
  • Manage RFx documentation, supplier communications, evaluation activities and cross-functional review processes.
  • Analyze supplier proposals, pricing, total cost, service levels and contractual implications, then provide clear recommendations to stakeholders.
  • Develop negotiation strategies and provide commercial insights that support value-focused supplier negotiations.
  • Maintain sourcing documentation and ensure recommendations, approvals and supplier selection decisions align with procurement governance requirements.
  • Identify opportunities to improve value through standardization, supplier consolidation, demand management and alternative sourcing approaches.
  • Develop supplier performance frameworks, scorecards and reporting tools, monitor results and recommend corrective actions where required.
  • Coordinate supplier reviews and performance assessments with business stakeholders while actively managing service, performance and value expectations.
  • Advise stakeholders on sourcing strategies, procurement options, policy requirements and procurement best practices.
  • Manage and prioritize procurement requests from intake through execution, including timelines, evaluation requirements, decision points and procurement risks.
  • Monitor compliance with procurement policies, approval frameworks and internal controls, and identify risks, exceptions or process gaps.
  • Lead procurement audit activities and maintain templates, tools and documentation that support consistent procurement practices.
  • Conduct spend analysis and report on sourcing outcomes, cost savings, value realization, procurement metrics and supplier performance.
  • Evaluate procurement data and processes, then recommend improvements to sourcing outcomes, governance, efficiency and stakeholder experience.

What you bring:

  • Three to five years of relevant experience in procurement, strategic sourcing, supplier management, supply chain or a related business function.
  • Experience leading or managing RFx processes, supplier evaluations, commercial analysis and stakeholder recommendations.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to advise stakeholders and prepare clear procurement recommendations.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities, lead assigned work independently and deliver results in a deadline-driven environment.
  • Intermediate to advanced proficiency in Excel, data analysis, reporting and procurement-related tools.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, including the ability to interpret supplier proposals, pricing structures, spend data and procurement performance metrics.
  • Strong stakeholder management skills and the ability to build effective working relationships with suppliers, employees, leaders and external partners.
  • Experience supporting procurement transformation, continuous improvement and value realization initiatives.
  • Progress toward or completion of a professional designation such as SCMP, CPSM, APICS or an equivalent supply chain or procurement designation is an asset.
  • Experience in a medium to large, multi-entity organization with formal procurement governance, supplier management and reporting requirements is an asset.

The salary range for this position is $37.64/hour to $47.05/hour and is determined via job-related knowledge, skills, experience, certifications, market demand and internal equity. In addition to base salary and BCAA benefits, this position is eligible for a performance bonus target of 5%, with the opportunity to earn up to 9%.

What we offer:

  • The chance to make a difference every day in the lives of British Columbians, BCAA Members and our communities.

  • Career and personal development to help you grow and reach your goals.

  • Incentives that recognize team and individual sales and performance.

  • Flexible benefits to support your health and lifestyle, and wellness dollars* to keep your body, mind and soul thriving.

  • A competitive rewards package including salary performance bonus programs, pension plan*, and more to help build your personal wealth.

  • Paid time off including vacation, and days for wellness, volunteering, and cultural, spiritual or religious connection.

  • BCAA membership, with valuable perks and Member savings on every day and special spending, from gas and coffee to clothes, sports and event tickets, and hotels.

  • Meaningful, rewarding work for a BC Top Employer known for putting people first and constantly building a better workplace for all our team members.
