Job description

Are youProject Manager - Business Change-L1 with adequate experience in the filed? This 6-months role with chances of extension can be a good fit for you.

This role is responsible for the baseline facilities management requirements for L&D's training facilities in operation. This includes daily checks of the Trades Training Centre for safe occupancy, addressing and reporting building issues as they arise, collaborating with a number of stakeholder groups internal to L&D and external service provides, coordinating service calls, identifying service issues related to L&D-owned assets, managing occupant facility concerns and routing these for resolution, working in close collaboration with the L&D Administration & Planning team, maintaining L&D technologies, performing monthly maintenance tasks assigned to this role, maintaining an Intermediate first aid certificate, performing first aid duties at the TTC and maintaining the TTC's first aid program, and a variety of other facilities-related tasks as may be assigned.

Responsibilities
Key Responsibilities

• A minimum five (5) years of project management experience or equivalent.
• Plan, direct, and report on business process change or similar project activities by consistently monitoring project benefits, resources and status and creating documents such as project plans, action logs, communication plans, status reports and post implementation reviews so that the project is implemented as planned.
• Develop project plans and risk management plans for business process change or similar projects by identifying, analyzing, and monitoring risks for effective risk management throughout the project lifecycle.
• Complete project management activities including scoping, planning, managing, monitoring, and reporting on project tasks by using intermediate skills in Microsoft Office as well as project management programs to fulfill business needs.
• Maintain meaningful relationships with stakeholders through regular reporting and communication using excellent verbal, written, and presentation skills enabling timely progression of projects.

Qualifications
Must haves: The following requirements are mandatory to this role.

Have a good understanding of the facility management role.
Possess very good customer service skills and a desire to perform this role at a high level of achievement.
Have good collaboration skills and the ability to work with a diverse set of people and deliver effective results.
Have good time management skills with the ability to plan effectively and deliver on plan.
Be in good physical health and able to lift 23 kg and remain ambulatory for most of the work day.
Have very good written and spoken English proficiency.
Be proficient with Microsoft 365 applications. and MS Teams applications.
Have a good basic understanding of computing technology with the ability to resolve basic laptop issues.
Have a high commitment to workplace safety, a strong work safety record and have the ability to identify and resolve safety concerns.
Have experience in emergency management processes.
Have experience supervising or managing people, demonstrating effective supervision skills.
Be able to interpret and follow rules, regulations and standards in a complex work environment.

Nice to haves: The following requirements are desired and would enhance the candidates effectiveness in this role.

Have training in facilities management.
Have training in basic project management.
Have good technical writing skills.
Have a background working with IT systems and technologies.
Have experience working for an electrical utility.
Have experience managing and/or participating in a complex safety environment.
Have experience in management shipping/receiving and/or materials management in a large commercial environment.
Have experience working with a variety of skilled trades.
Have experiencing managing projects and contract work related to projects.
Have experience managing emergency management and life safety programs.
