LOCATION: St. John's, NL

DEPARTMENT: Supply Chain

Role

As a Yard Supervisor - Onshore, you will be responsible for overseeing all day-to-day yard operations with Tenaris’s local logistics and inspection partners. This role ensures safe, efficient, and accurate handling, inspection, storage, and dispatch of OCTG products in line with customer delivery schedules and Tenaris quality standards. The Supervisor acts as Tenaris’s on-site operational lead, ensuring that our contractors execute their contractual responsibilities effectively and supports broader Tenaris supply chain strategies for Offshore Canada.

This is a temporary 1 year contract

Responsibilities:

  • Yard Operations Oversight
  • Ensure contractors execute pipe handling, racking, coating inspection, cleaning, and dispatch in compliance with Tenaris operational standards and customer requirements.
  • Supervise all yard movements including receiving, stocking, and loading of OCTG.
  • Coordinate the use of lifting equipment, ensuring all movements follow HSE protocols.
  • Quality Assurance & Inspection
  • Verify all inspections conducted by contracted personnel are completed by Tenaris-certified inspectors using proper procedures (e.g., Tenaris premium connections, Dopeless® technology).
  • Ensure inspection data is accurately entered into Oil Country OS and that the system is interfaced properly with Tenaris PipeTracer for traceability.
  • Initiate corrective actions when non-conformance is observed.
  • Inventory Control
  • Maintain oversight of all physical and digital inventory to ensure accuracy and prevent losses or mix-ups.
  • Conduct or supervise regular cycle counts and audits in coordination with contractors and suppliers.
  • Track incoming and outgoing product volumes against delivery plans and purchase orders.
  • Scheduling & Logistics
  • Enter product data into operator logistics platform and follow delivery of same to destination.
  • Coordinate yard schedules with contractors and suppliers to meet offshore vessel timelines and client delivery windows.
  • Coordinate logistics with operator and third party logistics companies including loading, trucking, offloading and vessels
  • Liaise with Tenaris logistics and commercial teams to align delivery schedules with client requirements and fabrication yard plans.
  • Facilitate emergency or high-priority shipments when required.
  • Stakeholder & Client Interface
  • Act as Tenaris’s primary yard-based contact for clients, contractors, and internal stakeholders.
  • Represent Tenaris in site visits, audits, and logistics coordination meetings.
  • Maintain positive and productive relationships with contractor and supplier leadership and operational staff.
  • HSE Leadership
  • Ensure compliance with all Tenaris safety regulations.
  • Lead incident investigations and root cause analyses when safety or quality events occur on site.
  • Foster a culture of safety, accountability, and continuous improvement among contractors, suppliers, and Tenaris staff.
  • Reporting & Performance Monitoring
  • Provide weekly and monthly performance updates to Tenaris regional supply chain leadership.
  • Track KPIs related to yard throughput, inspection completion, loading accuracy, and inventory discrepancies.
  • Recommend improvements to enhance efficiency, safety, or cost effectiveness.

Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of experience in supply chain, yard logistics, or OCTG operations
  • Supervisory or management experience in an industrial or oil & gas setting.
  • Strong working knowledge of pipe yard operations, premium connections, and OCTG handling protocols.
  • Familiarity with Oil Country OS and Tenaris PipeTracer platforms is an asset.
  • Strong understanding of HSE practices and incident management.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder coordination skills.

Schedule & Working Conditions:

  • Standard 8-hour workday, 40-hour week (Monday–Friday) with flexibility based on business needs.
