Position Summary

The Hospital Security Guard is responsible for providing security and physical plant monitoring service.

Qualifications

• Graduate of a recognized Police Foundations or Law and Security College Program required.
• Active Private Security and Investigation Services License
• Completion of Hospital Security and Fire Training Program require upon hiring.
• Non-violent crisis intervention training is considered an asset.
• Experience working within a Hospital setting is preferred.
• Working knowledge of Ontario legal procedure is preferred.
• Excellent communication skills in English, both written and verbal and interpersonal skills to interact harmoniously with internal and external clients in situations, which may require tact, discretion, confidentiality and conflict resolution.
• Demonstrated ability to exercise good judgment in problem solving and decision-making.
• Demonstrated ability to utilize effective listening and observation skills to assess situations.
• Highly motivated and flexible with the ability to adapt quickly to new situations/challenges.
• Must demonstrate maturity, self-confidence, dependability, reliability and assertiveness.
• Demonstrated professional manner in work setting.
• Demonstrates commitment to continued professional and personal growth and development through Continuing Education Programs and Self Directed Learning Opportunities.
• Satisfactory work performance and attendance record required
