ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITY

Prosperity Workforce Solutions is proud to be recruiting on behalf of a well-established Indigenous child and family services organization in, Manitoba. Our client is seeking a compassionate and skilled Occupational Therapist to join their multidisciplinary clinical team.

In this role, you will work within a specialized community-based mental health program, providing assessment and therapeutic services to children and youth. You will collaborate with educators, families, and community partners to promote resilience, emotional well-being, and school success — all within a culturally grounded framework that honours Indigenous perspectives and practices.

This is a meaningful opportunity to contribute to the healing and growth of children and families in a community-focused setting.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Conduct comprehensive mental health assessments for children and youth in community and school settings.
  • Provide observation, assessment, and intervention for children presenting with mental health concerns.
  • Consult with school staff and school-based mental health professionals on strategies related to behaviour, social skills, emotional regulation, and trauma.
  • Deliver live, in-classroom coaching to educators and school staff on evidence-based implementation strategies to support student success.
  • Provide mental health education to children, families, and caregivers.
  • Facilitate class-wide workshops focused on resilience-building, drawing on cognitive behavioural techniques.
  • Deliver training workshops across various community and organizational settings.
  • Contribute to the team's clinical service delivery, including developing individual service plans and coordinating community resources to optimize mental health outcomes.

QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS

  • Master's Degree Occupational Therapy (MScOT/MOT) — from an accredited post-secondary institution.
  • Current licensure/registration in good standing with the applicable provincial regulatory body.
  • Minimum 2 years of recent, relevant experience in child, adolescent, and family mental health.
  • Demonstrated experience working within the school system.
  • Exceptional clinical skills in the mental health assessment and treatment of children and their families.
  • Extensive knowledge of provincial mental health community resources and services.
  • Strong understanding of cultural and socio-economic factors that shape service delivery.
  • Knowledge of, or willingness to learn about, Indigenous cultures and community-based service models is an asset.

WHO YOU ARE

You are a clinician who leads with empathy, patience, and respect. You thrive in a collaborative, multidisciplinary environment and are energized by creative, community-centred approaches to mental health. You understand that healing happens in relationship — with children, families, schools, and communities.

You are committed to culturally safe practice and approach your work with humility, curiosity, and care.

HOW TO APPLY

Qualified candidates are invited to apply through Prosperity Workforce Solutions. Please submit your resume and cover letter outlining your relevant experience and interest in this role.
