MatchBox Consulting Group is seeking a Procurement Specialist to join an iconic organization in the construction and manufacturing sector. This is an on-site role based in Surrey, BC, supporting operations across the Pacific market. The successful candidate will play a key role in coordinating procurement activities, supporting cost-saving initiatives, and delivering strong internal customer service in a fast-paced, operational environment.
About the Role
Reporting to the Procurement Manager, the Procurement Specialist will coordinate the tactical and operational procurement of goods and services in alignment with category strategies, internal policies, and regional objectives. This role works closely with Category Managers and local business leaders to support supplier performance, contract execution, CAPEX initiatives, and continuous improvement across procurement processes.
What You’ll Do
Coordinate procurement activities across assigned categories, ensuring compliance with policies and specifications
Build strong relationships with internal stakeholders to anticipate needs and optimize cost and service outcomes
Manage supplier relationships, particularly with equipment and maintenance service providers
Support negotiations on pricing, volumes, quality, and service levels in collaboration with procurement leadership
Execute RFx processes and support local CAPEX initiatives
Assist with contract preparation using pre-approved templates
Track supplier performance, savings, and KPIs
Leverage BI tools, Power BI, and advanced Excel to analyze spend data and identify cost-saving opportunities
Promote and adhere to health, safety, and environmental standards
What We’re Looking For (Must-Haves)
2–5 years of procurement experience (manufacturing, construction, mining, or building materials preferred, but not required)
Strong business mindset with excellent customer service skills
Proactive, independent problem-solver with strong communication and interpersonal abilities
Advanced analytical skills with the ability to work with large datasets
Nice-to-Haves
Experience in manufacturing or building materials
SAP experience
Exposure to eRFQ, eAuction, or Power BI
Education : University degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, or related field
Additional Requirements : Valid driver’s license and ability to travel to the U.S. as required
