Job description
We are seeking motivated and reliable Production Operators to join our foam manufacturing team. The successful candidate will operate and monitor expanded polystyrene production equipment, expand raw beads, respond to machine faults, support mold and production changeovers, perform basic quality checks, and maintain safe, efficient production throughout the shift.

This role is suited for someone with manufacturing or machine-operation experience who is mechanically inclined, safety-focused, and comfortable working around automated industrial equipment, steam systems, compressed air, material handling, and production targets.

Responsibilities
Key Responsibilities
•Operate and monitor EPS production equipment, including pre-expanders, bead handling systems, silos, molding machines, conveyors, packaging equipment, and related auxiliary systems.
•Expand raw polystyrene beads according to production specifications, density targets, aging requirements, and quality standards.
•Monitor process parameters such as steam, air, vacuum, cycle time, fill, cooling, density, block or part quality, and equipment alarms.
•Reset machine faults and alarms after identifying the cause and confirming it is safe to restart equipment.
•Identify basic operational issues and escalate mechanical, electrical, process, or safety concerns to maintenance or supervision.
•Perform machine startups, shutdowns, product changeovers, mold changes or setup support, and routine production adjustments.
•Inspect finished foam products for quality issues such as density variation, poor fusion, shrinkage, moisture, deformation, surface defects, or incomplete fill.
•Complete production records, quality checks, downtime logs, material usage records, and shift handover notes accurately.
•Handle raw materials and finished goods using approved methods, including bags, gaylords, bins, pallets, carts, conveyors, and forklifts where authorized.
•Maintain clean and organized work areas around machines, silos, pre-expanders, molds, packaging areas, and material storage locations.
•Follow all company safety procedures, lockout/tagout requirements, PPE rules, housekeeping expectations, and environmental requirements.
•Support continuous improvement, waste reduction, uptime improvement, and production efficiency initiatives.

Preferred Qualifications
•Previous experience with EPS, EPP, plastics, foam, injection molding, extrusion, blow molding, packaging, or automated manufacturing equipment.
•Forklift certification or previous forklift/material-handling experience.
•Basic troubleshooting experience with PLC-controlled machinery, sensors, alarms, conveyors, valves, steam, vacuum, or compressed-air systems.
•Experience completing quality checks, production paperwork, inventory transactions, or shift reports.
