Position Description

This is a high-impact role for a professional who thrives on shaping strategy while rolling up their sleeves to deliver measurable improvements in efficiency, quality, and employee engagement.

Operational & Process Excellence

  • Partner with senior leaders to set transformation goals, metrics, and clear roadmaps.
  • Reimagine and streamline core manufacturing processes to reduce waste, compress cycle times, and boost throughput.
  • Apply Lean, Six Sigma, or Kaizen principles to modernize shop-floor practices.
  • Champion automation and digitization initiatives, including data collection, performance tracking, and dashboard reporting.
  • Lead cross-functional programs aligned with strategic priorities and deliver measurable cost, quality, and efficiency gains.
  • Translate complex operational data into actionable insights that inform decision making at every level.

Culture & Continuous Improvement

  • Cultivate a culture built on safety, accountability, and ongoing improvement.
  • Build and refine training, communication, and engagement strategies that secure employee buy-in and foster change adoption.
  • Promote Lean and Six Sigma projects that drive OEE improvements, reduce scrap, and elevate production flow.
  • Ensure all processes comply with relevant safety and quality regulations.

Business Alignment & Documentation

  • Collaborate with production, engineering, maintenance, and quality teams to craft and execute transformation roadmaps.
  • Develop and maintain SOPs, risk assessments, and safety documentation.
  • Remove operational bottlenecks and foster seamless inter-departmental communication.
  • Implement and monitor key performance metrics to track progress and outcomes.

Leadership & Stakeholder Engagement

  • Direct cross-functional teams, guiding them to achieve critical milestones.
  • Monitor and report KPIs such as productivity, scrap rates, downtime, and delivery performance.
  • Provide regular updates and strategic recommendations to plant leadership and executive stakeholders.

Qualifications

  • 10+ years of hands-on process engineering experience within PET plastics manufacturing, extrusion, or thermoforming environments.
  • Deep practical knowledge of PET sheet extrusion processes as well as thermoforming production methods.
  • Well-versed in regulatory standards and compliance requirements for food packaging, including those set out by FDA, CFIA, CSA, and OHSA.
  • Proven track record leading manufacturing or process-improvement initiatives.
  • Strong command of Lean, Six Sigma, or comparable continuous-improvement tools.
  • Ability to translate data into clear action plans that deliver measurable results.
  • Excellent leadership, coaching, and communication skills with a collaborative mindset.
  • Adaptability and the willingness to wear multiple hats in a fast-paced, evolving environment.
