Overview
The Communications Technician 3 is responsible for the installation, planning, organizing, and scheduling of communications cabling and equipment to complete work orders, including task assignment, quality assurance, and safety compliance. The role requires monitoring task completion, ensuring adherence to standards, and preventing safety issues.
This position demands a proficient understanding of telecommunication systems including OSP & ISP Copper, CCTV, DAS, Fiber Optic, and Structured Cabling. The technician should aim to become a qualified BICSI Technician.

The candidate must have hands-on experience in Low-Voltage specialty contracting industries, supporting projects in Healthcare, Government, Higher Education, Federal Aviation, and Mission Critical sectors.
Responsibilities
- Extensive experience in installing, terminating, and testing structured cabling within commercial construction.
- Experience in terminating, testing, and troubleshooting copper cabling (Cat 5, Cat 6).
- Knowledge of fiber optic installation, inspection, termination, and troubleshooting, including pathways, cabinets, racks, and grounding systems.
- Leadership skills to supervise a team of 6-10 technicians and support a Communications Superintendent.
- Own tools required for the role, and knowledge of termination procedures and standards.
- Ability to install and test various telecommunications systems including Video, Data, Fiber Optic, CCTV, DAS, and Patch Panels.
