Job description
310T Truck & Coach Technician (Waste Management Fleet)

A leading waste management and environmental services company is hiring a licensed 310T Truck & Coach Technician to join its fleet maintenance team. This is a long-term opportunity with a stable employer operating one of the largest heavy-duty fleets in the industry.

If you take pride in keeping equipment running safely, minimizing downtime, and working in a fast-paced shop environment, this role is built for you. Garbage trucks are not glamorous, but they are recession-resistant. When the economy sneezes, trash still gets picked up. That means steady hours, stable work, and strong overtime opportunities.

Compensation & Benefits

  • Competitive hourly pay
  • Overtime opportunities available
  • Full benefits starting Day 1
  • RRSP / retirement savings program
  • Paid vacation and holidays
  • Boot and tool allowance
  • Uniforms and PPE provided
  • Ongoing paid training and certification support
  • Stable year-round work with a growing company

Responsibilities

  • Diagnose, repair, and maintain heavy-duty diesel vehicles and waste collection equipment
  • Perform preventative maintenance inspections and repairs
  • Troubleshoot hydraulic, electrical, pneumatic, suspension, brake, and engine systems
  • Complete repairs on refuse trucks, roll-off trucks, front-end loaders, and support fleet vehicles
  • Use diagnostic software and scan tools to identify mechanical issues
  • Ensure all work is completed safely and in compliance with Ministry and company standards
  • Maintain accurate service and repair documentation
  • Support emergency breakdown repairs when required

Qualifications

  • Valid 310T Truck & Coach Technician License
  • Strong experience with heavy-duty diesel equipment
  • Experience with hydraulics and electrical diagnostics preferred
  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment
  • Valid driver's license required
  • DZ or AZ license is considered an asset
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving ability
  • Safety-first mindset

Preferred Background

Candidates coming from:

  • Waste management
  • Transportation
  • Heavy equipment
  • Construction fleet
  • Municipal fleet
  • Logistics or trucking environments

will transition especially well into this role.

Why Join

This is an opportunity to join a company that invests heavily in its people, equipment, and safety programs. We offer long-term career stability, modern equipment, and real advancement opportunities for skilled technicians who want to build a career rather than switching shops for higher hourly pay.

Because let's be honest — a clean shop pizza party doesn't pay the mortgage. Strong benefits on Day 1 and consistent work do.
