Job descriptionMust hold a valid Journeyperson Ticket (either Heavy Duty or Automotive); 4th-year apprentices will also be considered Own hand tools Fluent in written and spoken English 2 – 5 years related experience Valid driver’s license (class 2 or 3 considered an asset) CVIP (Commercial Vehicle Inspection Program) License is considered an asset Exposure to working on diesel engines Analytical and troubleshooting skills Ability to comprehend / operate diagnostic and manual measuring tools, including micrometers, brake drum gauge, Ohmmeters, and AVR (Amps, Volts & Resistors) Computer proficiency Journeyperson Rate - $42.50 per hour Bi-weekly pay period (every second Friday) Employee Benefits Plan (after 3-month probation) Group Registered Retirement Savings (RRSP) Plan (available after 12 months) Annual Tool and Boot Allowance (pro-rated from start date - available in the last quarter of the year, and each subsequent year)

Mobile Preventative Maintenance Yard Mechanic
The Mobile Preventative Maintenance Yard Mechanic is responsible for servicing / repairing buses at various SOUTHLAND yards in a safe, efficient, and effective manner.
Hours of Work : The shift for this position is Thursday, Friday, and Saturday, worked as a 12-hour shift from 6 : 00 am to 6 : 00 pm.
Duties
- Ongoing maintenance / repair of buses
- Travel between multiple yards to perform preventative maintenance scheduling
- Diagnose equipment problems
- Spring and winter maintenance
- Complete all documentation associated with equipment repairs
- Work with shop management to maintain schedules and priorities
- Follow SOUTHLAND procedures and guidelines
