Job description

AFIMAC Canada is actively hiring experienced Industrial Mechanic - Millwrights for an upcoming assignment in Southwest Ontario. Your job will involve installation, maintenance & troubleshooting of on-site electrical machinery and equipment.

This position will require you to work 10–12-hour shifts for 4-6 days per week when assigned to a project.

You will earn:

  • $65.00 per hour before overtime
  • $30 per day non-taxed meal allowance (when lodging is required)
  • Paid Travel (up to 4 hours)
  • Hotel Accommodations Provided (when required)

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Perform preventative maintenance, inspections, troubleshooting, and repairs on industrial machinery and equipment.
  • Read and interpret mechanical drawings, schematics, blueprints, and equipment specifications.
  • Follow all safety, quality, environmental, and production procedures, including lockout/tagout and confined space requirements.
  • Install, repair, and maintain hydraulic, pneumatic, piping, tubing, hose assemblies, and compressed air systems.
  • Use hand and power tools for cutting, threading, bending, fastening, welding, grinding, and other mechanical work.
  • Rig, install, align, level, and adjust machinery and equipment as required.
  • Identify mechanical issues, perform corrective repairs, and minimize equipment downtime.
  • Maintain accurate maintenance records and complete scheduled work orders.
  • Inspect equipment and recommend repairs or adjustments to maintain optimal performance.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area.
  • Perform other maintenance duties and projects as assigned.

Skills & Qualifications:

  • Minimum Grade 12 or equivalent
  • Hold a valid 433A certificate of qualification – Industrial Mechanic
  • Min 1 year millwright experience in a manufacturing environment
  • Familiarity with computerized maintenance management systems
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Ability to work on your feet for extended periods of time.
  • Demonstrated strong interpersonal, technical and communication skills
  • Fluent command of the English language (both written and verbal)
