As part of the ONxpress consortium, Alstom is proudly working to transform the collective mobility of the Greater Toronto and Hamilton areas (GTHA) through the On-Corridor Works project, and we are hiring for hundreds of roles. The GO Expansion On-Corridor Works scope : new electric locomotives, fleet upgrades, train control systems, network electrification, signalling, telecommunications and digital systems, maintenance, and much more.

The Warehouse Manager will be responsible for the operations within the Alstom warehouse including inbound and outbound shipments and kitting activities.

  • Ensure that employees operate in an environment that complies with company Environmental Health, and Safety policies (EHS);
  • Know and follow all safety, environmental and emergency procedures;
  • Respect the safety conditions to handle goods, trolleys etc.;
  • Actively participate in all aspects of safety;
  • Notify Supply Chain Manager of all safety, site keeping or maintenance issues that are found during inspection that require assistance;
  • Ensure the storage of materials, guarantee the quantities stored and the correct storage conditions;
  • Ensure the material availability, integrity & delivery on time to the installation site / team / subcontractor;
  • Manage the physical material flows of his area (reception, shipping) to always keep physical and system flows aligned;
  • Ensure the ERP (GSI - SAP) solution is implemented and correctly used by Logistics operators;
  • Work closely with Warehouse Key User to manage the stock in the ERP system according to the core model and to train Logistics operators;
  • Monitor & challenge the performance of his area activity through Key Performance Indicators;
  • Actively contributes to the Continuous Improvement activities & APSYS roadmap (APSYS=Alstom Transport Production System) on his own area.
  • Provide a long-term vision to the team, set yearly objectives and targets, support and coach in achieving thesetargets and objectives, perform performance appraisals, reward and recognize merits, set and follow up team members development plans and induction program for newcomers;
  • Manage Logistics Operators & aligned team members activities to the warehouse workload;
  • Ensure Logistics Operators follow ALSTOM each warehouse processes;
  • Participate to the warehouse layout and optimize the storage space;
  • Contribute to the implementation of different areas in the warehouse to optimize logistic activities (Kanban flow, sequence);
  • Manage at operations level his area : material receipt, inbound transportation, stock entry, picking and kitting, packing, shipping, outbound transportation, inventory accuracy, scrap process;
  • Respect any specific storage regulations (chemicals, battery);
  • Ensure the continually improvement of the warehouse organisation & processes.

Mandatory :

  • A Bachelor degree in Supply Chain, Engineering, or Industrial fields;
  • 7-10 years experience in a relevant role;
  • A working understanding of the requirements from the Ontario Health and Safety Act pertaining to working at heights and confined space work;
  • Proven track record of managing logistics programs including warehousing, logistics management, and transportation management;
  • Knowledge of the typical logistics processes on a construction project.
  • Competencies and Skills :

  • Numerate & literate
  • Ability to make critical decisions based on evidence
  • Intermediate-level competency with MS Office
