Job Title: Electromechanical Assembler
Job Description

This role focuses on assembling electromechanical components in a dedicated workstation using detailed process control documents. You will build magnetic actuators, perform soldering on cables and printed circuit boards to IPC standards, and complete mechanical assemblies using hand tools and precision instruments. The position requires strong attention to detail, clear communication, and the ability to work independently while contributing positively to a collaborative production team.

Responsibilities

  • Assemble electromechanical components, including magnetic actuators, by following process control documents that combine photos and written instructions.
  • Use kitted parts to complete assemblies accurately and efficiently in an individual workstation.
  • Perform soldering on cables, printed circuit boards, and related components in accordance with IPC standards.
  • Conduct electrical assembly work, including printed circuit board assembly and general wiring tasks.
  • Use hand tools and equipment such as screwdrivers, torque wrenches, and other mechanical tools to complete mechanical assemblies.
  • Work with small parts and delicate components, maintaining a high level of precision and care throughout the assembly process.
  • Read and interpret measurements using LCR meters, micrometers, digital volt meters (DVMs), and calipers as required.
  • Document work performed in accordance with internal procedures and process control documents.
  • Participate in daily escalation meetings to discuss safety, process issues, and production challenges, and communicate openly about any obstacles.
  • Support electrical testing activities and learn testing procedures, applying training provided by the team.
  • Enter data accurately into Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Suite applications to support production tracking and quality records.
  • Follow established safety procedures and protocols at all times while working on the production floor.
  • Contribute positively to team morale by bringing energy, engagement, and a constructive attitude to a repetitive, detail-oriented work environment.
Essential Skills
  • Minimum 3 years of electrical assembly experience.
  • Minimum 1 year of hands-on soldering experience.
  • Proficiency in soldering to IPC standards for cables and printed circuit boards.
  • Experience with printed circuit board assembly and general electrical assembly work.
  • Ability to read and use LCR meters, micrometers, digital volt meters (DVMs), and calipers.
  • Ability to follow and interpret process control documents and build procedures that include photos and written instructions.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy when working with small parts and complex assemblies.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Suite, including solid experience using Microsoft Excel.
  • Ability to document work clearly and accurately in line with established procedures.
  • Comfort communicating in group settings, including speaking up in daily safety and escalation meetings.
  • Capability to work independently at a personal workstation while coordinating with a broader production team.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
  • IPC certification or equivalent training in IPC standards.
  • Experience with surface mount technology (SMT) is an asset.
  • Familiarity with Excel macros is an advantage.
  • Experience using torque wrenches and other precision mechanical tools.
  • Exposure to electrical testing processes; willingness to learn and be trained from scratch in electrical testing.
  • General mechanical assembly or general labor experience in a production or manufacturing environment.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and a positive, energetic attitude suited to a repetitive, detail-focused role.
  • Comfort working with process documentation and continuous improvement practices.

Work Environment

The role is based in a production environment on the manufacturing end of the facility, working within a team of approximately 11 people. You will report into a structured production organization and participate in daily escalation meetings that emphasize safety, process adherence, and open communication about issues. While you will be part of a collaborative team, you will perform most of your work independently at your own station, focusing on your portion of the assembly process. The work involves repetitive, detail-oriented tasks with small components, requiring sustained focus and precision. Standard hours are Monday to Friday, 8:00 . to 4:30 ., with flexibility to start earlier (for example, 6:00 to accommodate personal or family needs and to finish earlier, subject to operational requirements. Overtime is infrequent and rarely required on weekends. The company promotes a safety-focused culture with clear procedures and expectations. Dress code is casual, with steel-toe shoes required to meet safety standards.
